Bad ass. Installing this in my 02 Malibu this week. It should be here thursday. Great video. It's gonna help me a lot. I'm just worried about it fitting right and wiring it since I'm just gonna cut wires and do it without the adapter. Balls out. Lol. Grounding the dvd wire shouldn't be too bad.

UpEnYew its not rocket science, dont be scared. I installed this unit in my Nissan Quest van and chopped the factory crap and simply ran new power (with fuses) new spkr (rca) leads to a new amp, all the wires are labeled, whats confusing? My shit works fine, bk up cam, dvd. Cant get sd card to play vids as it claims it will, but for a $100 WTF.

Hey, great video man! I recently payed to have someone put new boss head unit in my '04 mustang V6 but just doesn't sound right. It's like the subs weren't hooked up right bc I'm not hearing any bass even tho there is sound coming out of the sub. Anybody have any ideas?

Dude I love this video I'm buying a Boss 9372BI along with a rear camera to put in my Ford Expedition , shops want to charge me 150 - 300 dollars. They must be starting early on the new pot smoking laws. I'm a journeyman Electrician and like a lot of tradesmen lazy when it comes to doing our own home projects. But money is a great motivator.... Have to be honest wasn't expecting vintage Hall and Oates from you my man LMAO but thanks for showing me what I'm up against.

I installed this unit professionally into my car 200 bucks since I know next to nothing about car stereo installation. The system worked fine for 2 months then it started popping very loud (so its possible yours could do that after a while) whenever I start and turn off my vehicle. I sent it back to the professional guy and he says he didn't know my car has stock amp so he bypassed 2 channels of the car factory amp with some nasty bulky wires and the radio now sounds horrible and on top of it has developed this humming sound which increases whenever I depress the gas pedal. I went back to this professional installer again and he says there is nothing he could do to fix the problem. The worst of it he did not use wiring harness he rather cut my factory wires to do the installation. Watching your video I feel like I should get myself a harness and do it the way you did. And if it pops again can the AFDI-5V solve the problem.

+Alex Siaw damn that sucks! If you can put the stock harness back together and then buy the proper adapter I would definitely recommend it. So far there's been no popping but we kept the 5V just in case. Please let me know if you are able to fix what the "professional" screwed up.

You forgot to add in ur 12v - 5v conversation to the radio to the after market to avoid the pop

+Anthony Redding have you checked the amp fuse? The car has been sold so I can only give you ideas. I would definitely check the fuses and if that doesn't work pull the head and double check your wiring. Please let me know if you solve your problem 👍👍👍👍👍

+jacques chagnon the new head sounds great. We left the factory speakers in cause of the Mach sound system. Make sure to get the proper wire harness adapter 👍👍👍

no, I didn't try hooking up to a tv or monitor. however, i was able to use another av cable that connected to the ipod to watch movies on the radio. that worked. yes, i believe we bypassed the ebrake switch..I can watch dvds without having the car in park. I just can't seem to watch movies from my galaxy note 5 to the radio. it has to be the setup on the phone or something.

+Bird NLC I did some googling and it seems that the note 5 is not mhl compatible but I would still try connecting to a tv just to be sure. Good luck.

+justliketolook it has external video and audio inputs, don't know if you could incorporate it with the internal CD player because according to the manual you have to choose auxiliary mode for external inputs.

Hey, so this is the first head unit I've ever done, I'm wondering if the small plug for the subwoofers is necessary or if it's optional because waiting for more wiring harnesses to come through Amazon seems like too much hustle

+John Petrila I can't say for sure if it's necessary or not but I would probably wait for the correct harness adapter. You could try giving Crutchfield a call, they're pretty squared away and seem to know their stuff.

The plug for the sub is optional, you may or may not need it depending on if your car has premium sound system. Best way to tell is to take the radio out and look at the connections, if your car has premium sound/mach sound system then you will need it.

Your slow! by the time you have the shifter knob off I would have had the radio on the passenger floorboard and the other radio almost totally installed. granted I had somone hooking up the wire harness outside the car. WTF why do you have the illumination wires tied in to what looks like the turn on off the radio? don't you know that some of them wires work off of ground to positive via the restate dim your lights and pop a fuse. The stock Sub system in the back window is MONO it has no right and left channels We always pulled the whole thing out replaced the speakers ran new wires to the radio and hooked that up, the system sounds better. You would have been better off paying a shop to do this. The sub and sub amps will conflict with each other and cost you bass output by canceling each other out. " Sounds pretty good" No it could sound better if you knew what you were doing. Screw crutchfield I was doing car audio before they ever opened the doors as a business and getting paid for it.
