Great job. After watching five videos about this pedal I was more confused than ever. After watching this I realized I now have a filter/ amplifier on my guitar just like my synths! Knobs rule! You rock!

Very Cool, Thankyou. Looking to get one of these to add to my "Boss Board". I currently have a Behringer CS400 Compressor Sustainer on my "Behringer Board" which is amazing. The CS-3 has such Awesome sound when Tone knob at 12 o'clock or higher, WOW. Awesome Sustain too. Sounds awesome. I am convinced I need one. Cheers from Australia.

Came into the possession of one of these bad boys. You cleared up what the knobs do pretty well. Quick question before I start experimenting with placement on the pedal board, should this go before or after a ds-1? Or does placement really not matter?

Ive always put it before but u can experiment - Kevin

Tuner>Fuzz>wah>compressor>overdrive>distortion>amp sim>flanger>reverb>chorus>looper. This is the general rule of thumb.

Hi Kevin and thank you for the video. I just purchased the Boss Cs-3 because in putting together my pedalboard all the experts say I need one. But after trying every setting I can with only this pedal through a Fender Tweed Blues Junior, I'm just not feeling it. Kind of like the "Emperor's New Clothes". I'm waiting and hoping that once I hook my other pedals to it, the effect will become apparent.

Its not for everyone, but the key is to keep it subtle and clean depending on what style you play - Kevin

Awesome video thanks for explanation. I have the CS3 on marshall code 50 with my guitar volume on 10 with the settings that kevin did at the end of the video with distortion and it makes too much of noise. What should I do for that

will sustainer get more noise ?
@erichfrederick9229 Жыл бұрын
I've noticed more noise the louder the sustain is. With my noise suppressor on, I've turned the sustain up until I hear the buzz then turn it down until the buzz is not there.

Actually, it creates a LESS dynamic sound ... that's literally what a compressor does/is for ...
@Crypticmaskguitar6 жыл бұрын
The term “dynamics” in music can indicate a number of qualities about the way a note or series of notes or chords are played, but typically “dynamics” refers to variations in volume - the degree of loudness or quietness with which a part of a performance is delivered. If Your Bringing Out Notes That Are In The Background So They Are More Prominent (Heard) And Not Squashing Them Your Changing Your Dynamics To Be More Dynamic... If Your Using A Compressor To Create A Squashed Signal, Which Some People Like For Country And Other Styles Of Playing (To A Certain Degree), Then Yah It Would Make It Less Dynamic At Over The Top Settings Keep In Mind Studio Compressors And Guitar Compressors Are Different Animals There Is Also More Then One Use For This Pedal As Stated And Some People Use It As A Sustain Pedal Making Minimal Adjustments To Their Tone. I Hope This Clears Up Any Confusion, Thanks For Commenting _ Kevin

Sounds all the same. Except for the sustain which isn't all that impressive.

Bought one years ago, biggest waste of cash next to my ipod. Still no wiser as to what benefit it gives to any kind of playing.

It is a regenerating sustain so hit a string and bend the hell outta it listen to it go on forever and then do the same with the pedal off. You should notice it
