Thank you for watching!! It's best both for making lead tone & crunch tone & clean tone with guitar's volume knob~!

DS-1 is generally too dry over amp's clean channel, so I've been using it exclusively to boost my solos over amp's drive channel for years now. Only relatively recently I came to an idea to stack it with SD-1 and man, what a difference in sound does it make! I also run SD-1 into DS-1 and SD-1 tames the sometimes unpleasant harshness of DS-1 with its warm and tube-like overdrive. DS-1 cuts through the mix like a knife through a butter, while SD-1 makes the sound much fuller and more tube-like. Not to mention how versatile it is to have these two pedals stacked together, as you can go from classic rock/blues overdrive to some quite mean and ballsy metal distortion.

Boss sd-1 is the best overdrive compared to the boutique pedal.

Eu possuo um Rat Proco 2 e um TS réplica ( Blues Man da Fuhrmann) e também fica legal nesta configuração.

Isn't it better the other way?

I tried the other way around as I said, but the way I gain-boosted ds1 to sd1 sounded better. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKPTn3aeo7yKo8k&lc=UgwyVn-CDkiNYT0_-MF4AaABAg

I’ve always preferred the SD-1 first. Two reasons, (1) the last drive pedal gives the overall color, EQ, and tightness and the SD-1 is pretty loose and inarticulate, and (2) the SD-1’s magical power is that it packs a powerful punch with minimal breakup when you max the level. When you stack this in front of other drive pedals it hits them hard with a supercharged signal which pushes them to beautiful places not possible on their own. With that being said, it would make sense to put the SD-1 second if you wanted its tone to be dominant and to soften the DS-1’s signature harsh sound. Interestingly, the DS-1 softens whether you add overdrive before OR after.
