As someone who writes code, "It didn't work, so I started over from scratch" is painfully relatable.

Really great idea and style. The hand coming out of the wall is unexpected and cool. Sad you didn't made Top100, because your submission really deserved it and is better than some of the Top100-stuff IMHO. Thanks for the breakdown.

@@crafthive What version would you recommend? For now I don't make a lot of money with my skills and I would be using it mostly for VFX and simulations that I would bring into blender.

Great video ! Your render is so unique and stylish ! I have a question concerning AccuRig : I was about to try out this software but then I remembered you saying your auto-control rig map didn't work and that you had to start from scratch in Maya. Any reason why it didn't work (or any advice of what not to do when while making an autorig ) ? Thanks

So AccuRig and mapping an Auto Control rig technically 'worked'. It's what I used for the boss character, but it was too limiting for the Hero. When you create an AccuRig and Auto Control Rig, the pole vector of the IK arm would control the hand position, when I needed the hand to be static. There was probably a way to fix it, but I'm more comfortable with Maya than CC4, so it was easier to start fresh. Also, the joints come into maya referencing the main mesh which is rotated 90 degrees and slightly out of position, so adding custom Blendshapes afterwards in Maya required a bit of fiddling with the Node Editor. It's great for quick and easy 'decent' rigs for some small stuff, but definitely wasn't suitable for more complex needs. Maybe with more time invested in learning CC4, you could get something more useable out of it.
