I don’t now why, but I can’t like the boss digital distortion/overdrive.... The effects are awesome! Good review and play!

In this boss you can add IR impulses Im sure that the distorted sound will be much much better..

This unit has more than enough to manipulate the distortions and overdrives to anything you want... It takes time to learn, but sure does pay off if you do...

I think you can do it. I have the core unit, and I downloaded a lot of patches from its bigger brother that I use everyday. I don't know if there are some particular effects or chains that are not supported by the core, but I have never had a problem

Since BOSS touts this as having the 500 series of effects reverb, modulation & delay, how deep can the editing get with each of those? What presets are ported over from the RV 500, for example? I've got an IR 200 coming & would love this as my fx unit & backup to the IR 200. Thanks for any assistance & thanks for this video. Very nice!

Only a fraction of the 500 series algorythms were incorporated... No where near all the capabilities of the RV-500...

Can be used both ways... There's a control knob lock on it to prevent your foot from accidentally changing anything when you have it on the floor...

You can do both... The software is the easiest way with the pedal interface being more time consuming...

If you just go off the presets... All of them can easily be manipulated to your taste...
