my GT 8 is now programmed to play this, and dude i bow down to you for figuring this out, playing that fucking nice, and for making this video to help people like me who have just got the effects pedal and are like, right how the hell do i get that sound out of it, its a special bit of kit, and looking at some of the other pedals out there the parameters and everything make the sound so much more fluid and mixable it just gives a great effect, id recommend this pedal to anyone already, cheers!

Boss GT6 and GT8 remarkable Effect Systems..they both still hold very strong today being older systems..way ahead of its time..the other system ahead of its time is the Line6 POD XT LIVE..all 3 of these systems are older but are still so much better than what's out today..

To anybody else with the same problem I just stated below, hit the left assign button, go to Exp Pedal Vol Min and put it at 100. After that, it'll work just as it should. Thanks for making the video btw. It cut a ton of time figuring that out for me.

The GT8 has a EXT LOOP as an option. So you would run a lead from the SEND jack of the gt8 to your amp input, then a lead from you amp's direct out or phones jack to the return jack of gt8. Then You can just plug the GT8 output to you pc's sound card. The Loop function can be inserted at any point in the effect chain but for this function it should be inserted at the end of the chain. This is one way of doing it without a USB audio interface with lots of inputs

@AngelsAndAirwaves100 thr loop button is NOT for a looper as you describe. It is rather to do with incorporating another stomp box via the effects send/return jacks.

i only know about the gt8 but as long as you can vary the input signal to the delay unit without disrupting the DIRECT signal to your amp i guess you can use any delay pedal you like. if you cant do this then perhaps a splitter plug before the delay to split your guitar signal into 2: 1 to the amp and 1 to the pedal then to (a) a separate input to the amp or (b) a separate amp all together creating a much wider effect.

@HudCouto But the POD doesn't have a built in pedal, I'm trying to figure out what I want to buy, I can't tell. I wanted the Zoom G2.1U before but apparently that's most suited for beginners. The Boss GT-8 looks awesome though! May I ask for some insight on the matter? :P

hi its not one ive worked out, try a jc clean on the full range setting for preamp. Try Turbo OD found in the natural setting Try a single delay with 300ms and feedback on 35 Dlevel at 40 And some chorus but not to much. turn on the comp first in the fx chain. FX CHAIN : COMP----OD----PREAMP then anything else you want in the order it sounds good in, Goodluck

the process is fairly simple: First imagine a loop of recording tape that loops once every 3/4 seconds or so. At the input of the tape recorder is a volume control(a) which adjusts the amount of sound that gets recorded on to the tape. The sound at the input also bypasses the tape and the volume(a)at the same time, this is the direct sound. when u play a chord and increase the volume(a) slowly a smooth sound of the strings after the strum is recorded, then decreasing the vol(a) allows you to...

This sound applies to making a backing effect on which to solo over like dave does in his most recent performances. It has never been used on 'Time' but there is nothing stoping you from doing it in your own way. Perhaps a slowed down ambient piece?

@slaya6y No. You see, the ex pedal controls the input level to the delays 'tape' and is able to create a smooth in and out of the signal. A pedal switch could not replicate this effect as its an on or off situation, rather than a gradual increase as with the ex pedal

Thanks for the demo. Glad to see someone demo a multi-effect pedal with a good sound like Gilmour instead of well, don't want to insult anyone but just say it's nice to hear this pedal without distortion and the like. With this pedal can you get a convincing Andy Summers sound out of it? Thanks.
@tensago16 жыл бұрын
you only need one delay pedal and the ability to alter the effected level input separately from the direct level (Direct level should stay on full) The use of an expression pedal adds to the ease of use

hi i'm afraid i'm unfamiliar with that device. i think it is possible as i read this on a review of it...."The AX5G has an expression.......You can use this to control volume, wah, or nearly any effect parameter such as the gain of an amp model or the speed of a tremolo or flanger, giving you great expressive potential for live performances." it must work on a similar principal to the boss in my video, remembering to disable the foot volume... i hope you find your answers soon.

order is ok. 1. What have you got on FX1? try turning it off. 2. Make sure: Foot volume is off. In assign source, 3. Make sure EXP Pedal and 4.MODE normal In delay, 4. Feedback set to 90 approx. Please reply with the format i have used, numbering your answers so they correspond with my questions. write done next to each number when you have checked the setting i have specified. eg 1. 2. 3. 4.

Very helpful thank you. Is there any way I can a different delay on the lead guitar? Does the gt=8 have a sub delay or will I have to put another outboard delay pedal into the effects loop? Obviously I undersand that I would have to click this off when strumming the feedback note otherwise there would be two delays running at the same time. But if the gt8 does have a sub delay I could it to manual mode and click the sub delay on and off. please help

@ahi12345678 i could only recommend the one by boss that is intended for this pedal. But if you cant find one, then you need something with the same volt output and the same milliAmpere output as specified on the boss website somewhere.
@tensago13 жыл бұрын
@mtndl222 actually my output is plugged to the digital output jack. Which is best? It really depends on your other equipment. i just so happened to have a record with i digital input, so i used the digital out as it carries a stereo signal over a single cable.

Thanks for your post. How do you change the parameters to achieve a continuous hold, rather than one that decays?
@tensago3 жыл бұрын
thats a good question. its a while ago now and i can't remember if the delay had a hold function. i don't think it did. you could try setting the feedback to 100%
@chrisstevens46803 жыл бұрын
@@tensago Thanks for that. Yes that works thanks. The only problem is that you can't 'ride' the hold effect on the volume pedal. I'm guessing that you could do it with a second expression pedal and some programming......but...I'm still in the early days of working out how the GT works. Lots to learn!

Would adding a lowly mixed analog delay screw up the gt-8 part of the signal? That part worked fine in the video, but I'd still need some delay on the lead parts.
