I bought one of these and I'm stunned. While both my gigging tube amps were in the shop, I bought the 50 mkII for home practice. I took the Katana to band practice to get me by since my other amps weren't back. I couldn't believe it! This thing had PLENTY of volume and sounded great! I took it back for the show! The room seats 100 and I didn't go through PA- Amp only! My Tele sounds great through it. If you are playing metal, or your band plays at very high volumes, this might not be gig worthy for you. But in a band that plays country, blues, etc at moderate levels, it might just work. What a value at $250. I might even sell my tube amps. I play all clean. I haven't tried the distortion settings at a gig. So I can't speak for that. But I ran my Boss delay through the front(no effects loop) and it took the pedal extremely well. I can say I would have chosen the 100 watt version for an extra $100 which is better set up for gigs had I known this thing would do so well. Another thing is when I got it home, I thought it sounded a bit thin, but I think the speaker is really opening up after several hours of playing.

I have gigged a 100 head for a couple of years now and never used it in 100 watt mode!! Plenty loud enough at 50 watts.

I’ve been a diehard tube amp guy for years but I’m really tempted by these. I think for me the foot switch is a must have for it but I really like the idea and they sound amazing for a solid state modeling amp. The price is amazing too.

Had a Mesa/Boogie MkIII built for me in 1986. Totally loved it and played it for 25 years. Sold it 5 or 6 years ago. Tubes are getting harder to find. It was heavy AF and I'm not getting younger. LOL I don't have one of these yet but thinking hard about it. No way would I pay another $100 for 50 more watts. Stage volume kills sound. Cheers!
