Hi folks, another quick comparison over here. Metal Zone, Ultra Metal, or both?
@manualofalternativemusic2 жыл бұрын
Wow is it just me or the ultra metal sounds a tad more open in this clip? This is not my go to style of distortion, but they sound really good I have to admit! Would definitely use some of these tones

EXCELLENT job on this. Best vid right here. No talking, no bullshit, no wasted time. PURE COMPARISON, and shows these two sound the same side-by-side. I was more of the opinion that they might not sound the same, but have true skepticism and weigh both for what they are, here is shown multiple examples/settings where they are extremely close. I bet with further tweaking of knobs, every one of the Behringer tones could match the Boss. I'd get the Behringer because of this vid. Gonna watch another couple of vids, maybe sub - thx!

I'm pretty sure the circuits are identical. Any differences are down to pot tolerance differences.

Well, there's a little background noise on the um300 which is not the case on the mt2. It also seems that the mt2 has a fuller bass. However, they sound almost identical.

Had both Metal Zones (normal and waza) but just got the um300 and love it: use it with bass (bass blended with clean tone to retain bottom end- use an EBS BS Ultimate drive to blend 2 signals- use a Boss TU2/3 to split the signal) and the B sounds better, a bit rawer/rougher than the MT2: and for £26 you can’t argue

@@kellmustbedestroyed amazing, bought an old wired used metal zone as well, can’t tell the difference. My friend got waza craft for $50 so either way, just the metal case is the difference. Probably easier to EQ the Behringer

Great video! This is by far the best video demo on this UM300 that I've seen. Unfortunately I'm listening with headphones and I do hear a big difference. The Boss was much darker which I actually preferred. I really want to save money on the UM300 though. Now I'm torn lol I have an Ibanez Bottom Booster. Maybe that will help get that deeper tone.

Behringer sounds definitely more mid boosted

If you don't have a Metal Zone, you can use an Ultra Metal, In The Meantime. ;) Props for Helmet. 🤘

So... If i have an UM300 and love what it does, is it worth upgrading to a metalzone when i only use it as a boost/EQ to push another distortion/drive pedal...?🧐

I have the UM 300, to play at home, I'm a kind of eternal "beginner". Accordind to that video, the MT has a better sound, but the difference is not that big. For sure the Boss is robust pedal, you have to get it when you're confirmed and you play in a band. You just have to consider that the UM costs 30e, while the Boss 135e...A beginner should take the first very low cost but still good one, keep your money for other things, the Boss doesn't worth it in this case. I'm going to get the Boss because I have the other one for 15 years (It still works fine), and I think I am not a beginner anymore, so I can spend money in pedals

I had two different pedals with the same settings on the amp. The good one sounded bad and the cheap one sounded good until I changed the amp settings. Then the cheap one sounded bad and the brand named one sounded good. The Metal Zone has it all over the Behringer. But I think it could have been better changing the post EQ to suit both pedals then compare them.

i like crunch ... more crunch in Boss MT2 ... UM300 is bright but really less crunchy ... i can get the bright and openup sound from OD pedal ... but if you are low on budget that behringer will give you 2 cheap flavors in one metal + OD :D ...

can you do another muff shootout between the new KMA Machines Chief Disruptor and the usual suspects/Warlow?! I'm having a tough time deciding on a fuzz! I've been thinking about going with Source Audio Kingmaker fuzz that is all digital and emulates tons of them, but after hearing the Warlow.. I dont think itll ever be able to get that good!
