I just recently got into MHW, GS main here, i told myself that i would solo every single monster the first time, i had many many walls, Alatreon made me think about switching weapons entirely, then i beat him, after that i was dreading Fatalis, so many attempts later and i finally beat him today, after all the rage the satisfaction was so so much bigger than the rage and the sheer amount of adrenaline rush was incredible. Love this game

Fatalis was designed to evoke very old school western dragon designs, almost serpent like. It was made to be a very fantastical contrast to the more grounded-ish designs of typical monsters, a legendary beast of destruction. Fatalis's moveset and AI seem specifically tuned to keep the hunters within a certain distance of him. The farther you get the more likely he is to break out the big area sweeping attacks. He specifically goes for finishers on low health players. He snipes anyone that uses the artillery, and sometimes he just flat out squats on it so you can't use it. It's honestly the BEST AI in the game, making him the best fight. I'm so happy we ended on this Fatalis fight instead of that cheeseball Alatreon one. Thank you Capcom for putting Fatti in!

It took my friend and I so long to duo this fight. We went through all of monster hunter together--twice, and we decided we'd end it together by getting the Fatalis clear together. IT was an incredibly rough journey, with plenty of breaks in-between due to life. At the end of it, though, we finally did it, and it felt GREAT!

Old World Fatalis definitely isn’t as visually impressive as Iceborne Fatalis, to be sure. However, the way I hear it, Gen 1-2 Fatalis fights were, gameplay wise, very similar to the Iceborne fight. You had to be very careful or else you’d get wiped, and you still had to do a lot of damage. 4U and GU Fatalis, though having more moves, is still too weak to be tough for the higher mobility and less squishy hunters post-Tri, so that version of Fatalis definitely doesn’t live up to the legend like Iceborne’s Fatalis does :O

This fight is tougher than anything I've ever experienced in Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1, 2, & 3, Bloodborne, and Nioh 1 & 2... And I freakin' love it. There's no bullspit DPS checks or armor checks. No roar locks into unavoidable death. No "haha, gotcha" crap. It's just a pure test of skill from beginning to end with a great build up the whole way through. Even the music is friggin' good. Exactly the kind of fight the game needed to close out 3 years. Capcom... ya done good.

@@moonum4567 I think that in a vacuum he isn't so hard. What makes him hard is the duration of focus he requires. You can kill the hardest Soulsborne/Sekiro boss in less than 5 minutes, but Fatalis needs you to be on your A-game for like 15 minutes. And that's what makes him truly challenging compared to the soulsborne bosses, because he's just such a long fight.

I definitely teared up when I saw his death scene start playing when I solo'd it for the first time. Don't give up, every cart is new knowledge and skill building up for the next attempt. I now wear it's wings and helped slay it for my under-geared brother which was an amazing duo hunt that had us both sweating. I absolutely love Fatalis, I fought him in MH4U and he was an absolute cakewalk. Granted, I fought him with a full party of optimized players who knew what they were doing. I haven’t played World (Burnout from playing too much MH4 and Gen) so I’m sure he’s much more difficult in that. From what I’ve seen, his fight is pretty epic in World.

I beat him second try with zsd spam. Got a kill time of a little less than 29 minutes. Was solo without any safi gear.

I played every weapon on the game except switch axe... after I try few combo with switch axe in training room then go solo fight fatalis with fatalis gear... I was able completed in sub 18min while I have do a lot of time in my main weapon to achieve 16min...

That you use the devil trigger theme for the dual blades, a song that talks about letting out the demon inside, and sync the song breaking into chorus with your activating demon mode. That flash cut, with your screaming, into another high tension sequence at 9:24 to keep the beat going. And again at 9:30. The slow-motion hyping up of an attack at 9:36 into footage of you finishing a downward strike 9:44 - Singer: "RED HOT TEMPER" Dragon: *Starts breathing fire* Cut to black after raising the dual blades at 10:08 to enhance drop into chorus 10:20 - Singer: "BANG BANG BANG" Cannon: *Fires three times on rhythm* And my persoal favorite: 10:30 - Singer: "NO HIDING IN THE SHADOWS ANYMOOOOORE" Max: *Hides in shadow* People will simplify it and say its just 'making the action go with the music' but there is SO much WORK and LOVE involved to pull that off. You craft such a convincing narrative through editing that a lot of these videos have made me feel the same level of payoff I feel when watching the "hype moments" at the ends of full seasons of TV shows. It is astounding that you pull this off, and consistently. Stay gold.
