RC-1 is my first pedal. Ever. I'm not a new player, just an intermediate on a good day. I do have a big modding amp with an effects stomp box, so lots of effects are covered and controlled by foot, but this looper is my first actual pedal. Love it. Gets me learning more 'lead' stuff and learning the fretboard. Way more important to my development than any tone pedal. The RC-1 is fantastic...Boss even!

Think this is the first demo of changing the modes, it is much clearer than the user manual - thank you. Actually I was playing around with that function yesterday, and now realise I have changed the mode to mode 2 (playback first, not overdub); that suits me best at this time.

Thank you! I didn't think I got my money's worth until I watched this video. Why? 1) The overdubbing (IMHO) shouldn't be engaged when I hit the pedal the second time. 2) I was not hitting the pedal at the right time to terminate my recording - resulting in bad timing of my loop. Thank you for this video! And, y'all have a really nice product here.

When you have finished changing the playback order at 2:12 you plug back in and then *hold down the footswitch for a couple of seconds to erase the loop.* Austin did that but he forgot to mention it! You *must* do this step for it to work!

The reason you would want the additional pedal in order to stomp once to stop and silent erase feature, is definately easier in a live situation ,say your just using the pedal on a chorus and want to stop quickly in the middle of song much easier to stay in time with one stomp/ silent erase is helpful after song has ended the last thing you want is the track everyone just heard blareing back for 2 seconds you can manuelly turn the level down on the pedal while you erase but its a hassel

Can we talk about how BOSS stopped including 9V power supplies with their brand new pedals? Just got the RC-1 and had to go back to the store and buy the cord to plug it in XD. Great pedal, but the last Boss product I'll buy. Store associate agreed it seems shady and noted that they don't even include them with keyboards anymore. Last I checked that new Fantom is $4k. With no power supply, though? LOL man, wow.

I'm very happy with this video, thanx, specially with the explanation 'bout the (switching between) the 2 modes. But it could even be much better. Sometimes it's hard to see (and hear!) what's actually happening when the camera turns tot the foot. Just take some time between the different layers so you can hear the difference between the sound out of the loop and what's played 'live' could make it more easy to understand for people like me, who are not so fast in understanding these things :-).
@LarryMar5 жыл бұрын
I'm confused. You need TWO pedals to make the RC-1 work properly? And you can't delete the loop unless you do it while it's playing back unless you buy the second pedal? I'm going to Ditto!
@tracermunk3 жыл бұрын
I realize your comment was made a year ago, but I want to make clear that it doesn't require a footswitch to do silent erase. I don't know if I just got lucky or I'm not getting something, but if I have the loop stopped, pressing and holding deletes it. The loop doesn't play at all.

Video would have been much more instructive if a camera were placed over the pedal as it was being used so we could see the lights. To be honest, I know nothing more as to how this thing works than before I watched it. There are two inputs and outputs. I don't suppose they are coupled so I can record a base on one track and a guitar on the other and then send each track to a different amp since I don't want the bass freq going to my guitar amp. If not, make one.

Hello, thanks for the informative video. It solved one of the problems I had with my RC-1. I took your advice and purchased a Boss FS-7 Dual Foot Switch. When you get a free moment, could you tell me how to properly connect the FS-7 to the RC-1? These settings are on the side: Polarity (I & II) and Mode (FS-5L (Latch) and FS-5U (Momentary). On the top of the FS-7 are 2 inputs A and B (A & B). Please tell me what settings are needed, and where the FS-7 connects to the RC-1. The FS-7 came with a cable. The Cable has a single male connector on one end. The other end has dual connectors on it (One female, one male). How does this get connected? Thank you in advance for your help.

the counter intuitive playback/overdub function as well as the automatic start is the death of this pedal. all the other boss loop stations have a standby function that only starts recording once signal is detected. this just starts recording the moment the pedal is engaged. not good for tapping out a rhythm on your acoustic.

Amazing video, but I've been wondering for a while if it's possible to switch sounds on the amp while looping. If I loop clean chords, and then want to play a crushy solo over it, it constantly change the sounds of the chords into crunsh, which is aweful to hear. Does anyone know how to fix that ?
@jonrudolph14703 жыл бұрын
Exactly same with me...I have not tried it yet , but the only thing I can think of is putting a distortion pedal between looper and amp...so hopefully maybe loop keeps playing as is with no change whatsoever and then whatever I play over the loop hopefully will be distorted due to pedal between the looper and amp... maybe ?? Again have not tried yet.... While we are at it....when I play clean works great...but on dirty channel not so we'll..... both the loop and my play over don't really seem to stand out so well...like they kinda cut each other out a little bit and drown one another kinda... Does yours work well playing dirty on dirty??

hi i got my looper a week ago and no matter what i do , it deletes on double tap, it will not just stop, ive tried several different functions , playback 1st , dub 1st and no matter what i do it deletes on double tap, any help would be appreciated
@chester511615 жыл бұрын
So when you enter the area where you change the mode of the pedal, you have the semi circles. If the semicircle is red, then it is displaying the mode of recording, which affects the order or playback first vs dub first. If you press the face of the pedal, the red semicircle should turn green, indicating the current STOP mode. In mode one, the loop will stop on a double tap. In mode two, the loop will stop on double tap at the end of the phrase AND delete the phrase afterwards. It sounds to me like your current stop mode is mode 2, so you may need to make it so the green semicircle is on top rather than on the bottom.

@Psyfonify5 жыл бұрын
You need an amp with an fx loop, not a better one. Or you need to put the looper after your dirt and run the amp absolutely 100% clean. Only two solutions, as my guess is you are playing this into a warm creamy tube amp, which the loop + your playing will fight each other to go into since it gets all compressed and clipped by the amp.
