Another great feature - You can connect your phone or drum machine in the 'Aux in' to play beats and while recording a guitar/bass loop you record the beat as well. So you do not have to stick to the stock rhythms.

Quick tip, after you record yourself for the first time it will playback and starts to record again which can be frustrating. This is the default mode, and it's more of a showcase mode. What I like and many other people like is after you record your first entry playback and don't record right away a new layer only when you tap the pedal again then tap to stop. So to change the mode you simply unplug the amp cable so the looper switches off and then hold the TAP TEMPO button and plug right back the amp cable. Then switch to the other mode by pressing the UP/DOWN button. Plug back and done. Now, you will add the extra layer only if you press the left button. Keep Rocking.

Thank you so much for this video. I’ve had my Boss Rc-30 for awhile and just couldn’t get my head around how it worked. This helped lot to understand the functions and the timing. For me I had timing issues, it you could see that as soon as you clicked down it started recording, I was always a bit slow doing that so it never sinned in to how I want Ed it to play and ended up feeling frustrated. Thanks for helping me sort that out and I’ll be practicing more to copy how you used the pedal. Nice one! 👍🏻

great video man! due to get my pedal this week so your video will be a big help when i get confused with the pedal! i have heard that instead of using a guitar amp to jam i can just plug powered studio monitors into the rc30 as these have a built in preamp! is this true and have you tried this yourself?
@harryvincent5 жыл бұрын
Jamie elliot hey, I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you could power passive studio monitors with it as, whilst it does have a preamp, it doesn't have a power amp. You might be thinking of phantom power which can be used to power certain types of microphone. It does have that. Hope that helps!

Very informative ... thank you for posting. The one very important feature that was left out was getting your Loops to sound in time! For perfect timing, you hold down the "tap tempo" button, which allows you to set the recording Mode. You will then see the flashing display of 3 modes, Normal, Automatic, and Counting. The Counting mode is used the most and is the most accurate for precise timing, followed by Normal, which requires a good ear and a good technical understanding. Perhaps there is a detailed explanation in the manual. Remember that Timing is of the utmost importance. I hope this is of some help ... thank you.

@batmanarkhamvengeancetm63584 жыл бұрын
Just switch to the other mode where it's only playback until you want to record/overdub again. Just un-plug the amp cable so the looper switches off and then hold the Tap Tempo button as you plug the amp cable back in. Then switch to the other mode by pressing the UP/DOWN button. Plug back in and done. So now you don't have to record right away but whenever you want to.

I have the RC-20XL and my loop only lasts for a few seconds then automatically plays it back, it’s my first looper I bought on Craigslist, if anyone can help me I just want loop some music.
@DaveZiffer4 жыл бұрын
On my RC-30, the playback volume is ridiculously high compared to the thru signal, so that I must keep my volume sliders at about the second hash-mark; if I move them even slightly from their ideal position, the playback volume becomes radically high or radically low. In your first video you had the sliders set very low, but in this one it seems they are set higher, but still under halfway. Do you know of a solution to this problem? I looked thru the manual to see if maybe there was a master-volume knob somewhere, but cannot find any such thing. What I want to do is dramatically reduce the playback volume, so the I can have more dynamic range in my sliders. Thanks!!
@harryvincent4 жыл бұрын
It should be that the centre dash is unity and you can make it louder or quieter by moving it above or below that. That’s strange that it’s not doing that. If both sliders do it then it can’t be a dodgy slider. Maybe there’s some deeper setting that changes the output gain? If not I’m not too sure, sorry.
