Great video Michael, and a comment on the “wish” you made about providing a at to SEQUENCE the pedals from verse to chorus to verse etc...if they could add a PROGRAM function that allowed this (Digitech Trio+ does this) for us songwriters it would be a game changer and should be fairly easy to add in an update...Thanks gain for the tricks

i did the same with mode 1 /track 1 to 6 . rec/play/overdub..singel click stop Dubble click hold to udo deleat .. mode 2 .. input effects 1234 effects........ 5 = effects banks down .......... 6 = effects bypass .... mode 3 = track effects same setup as mode 2 .. but then i use fcb1010 foot controller ,, it has 10 buttons ,,,, 1 to 6 is play stop 7 8 9 10 is rhythm vernation abcd ,,, it also has 2 expression pedals one for rhythm Vol the other for track vol ........ i also have the fs6 button a = mic mute /button b rhythm start stop ..... plus i have ev30 expression pedal set to rhythm kit //// so that's 21 buttons and 3 expression pedals. .. look at my channel to see how i set mine up .. ps thanks for your video

I found trying to set up the rc600 to utilize all of its features, sorta took away the looping capabilities and workflow, Its my dedicated looper, with each mode set up for different, well uh, looping setups, Its on a sorta common sized pedal board, I use the c4 synth pedal, with a controller addon, and a mooer drummer x2, still a work in progress, im being very careful about what i select

I'm wondering if there's a way to have a memory with 3 modes set to MULTI......so you could build 3 multi's in the usual way and class each MODE as a song section?.....So 3 multi's in one song oh my days?! Or.....is it possible to treat consecutive memory's as song sections ala SINGLE MODE? So one day somebody might actually do Bohemian Rhapsody on this badboy?! :o) WOW .........Guitars and vocals into a Voicelive 3 and drums and keys into the RC600?! OK I'm dreaming here lol. Maybe a tad ambitious but does anyone think this would be actually do-able??

Fabulous! Love your setup and very thorough explanations. I managed to understand everything you explain after a couple of plays! This thing is an ABSOLUTE BEAST. I've waited a LONG time for a looper like this. I'm into prog rock so I can finally do 6 section songs all with different progressions YAY (see alex hutchings videos) The only other looper that comes close is QUANTILOOP on the iPad but it's too much faffing around with extra gear to make it work. Incredible app though. I also have the Voicelive 3 extreme but found the looper limiting. However, the guitar and vocal FX are amazing so I might just live the dream and use both somehow :o)

Have you ever had issues with levels considering there's no faders on this pedal?

I set mode three for that. Pedals 1-6 in mode three dedicated to volume modifiers for each track. If click a pedal once they bounce up 20 notches in volume and if I tap it again the volume for that track goes down about 20 notches. This allows me to level my mix when needed.

I think there's a better way to set it up with all 6 tracks on one mode. (Try this) switches 1-6 Play/Stop2, footswitch 7 CUR TRK REC/PLAY 1, footswitch 8 CUR TRK STOP 3, footswitch 9 CUR TRK UNDO/REDO. now U have Undo/Redo on 6 tracks with no double taps or holds, U have STOP on 6 tracks with no double click, and 6 tracks that can also be switched between any combination of rec/play/stop using ONLY single press. Basically u are able to single press everything at all times unless u want to use the "tap-tempo" or clear a track. This greatly reduces performing on one foot while tap-dancing.. (I will actually have Play/Stop2 on tracks 4,5,6,7,8,9, but I laid it out differently in my example to make it easier for U to visualize)

I really like this idea. I love the versatility and choices that this thing provides. I would have to figure out a different place for my rhythm start/stop as I use sporadically. How to do you choose what is the “current track,” when using this setup? Cycle through or tap whenever nothing is recorded?

@@michaelchancellormusic I'm still waiting for my RC600 to arrive. I came up with this idea from watching videos and reading the owners manual +parameter guide. U could put rhythm start/stop on an external foot switch.. (that button is perfect for a foot switch cuz it's just on/off.) I THINK the way to choose current track is just to press one of the track 1-6 "play/stop2" buttons (when they are empty) and then it is selected. (I'm going from memory of some video i saw weeks ago..) Pressing an empty track to select it would work smoothly 90+% of the time, then once in a while if u wanted to overdub onto a track that was already full but stopped.. then maybe you'd have to step on it again to "play" that track before overdubbing on top of it. (or "stop" iot b4 overdubbing onto it..) I think it considers the "most recent" track that u stepped on, to be the "current track" (I think I learned that from some other youtube video) They don't make this clear in the owners manual.. Let me know if u figure it out lol.

This is a good product but the screen is very 1980s atari antiquated. Boss could really level up here and create an app for an iPad to control this.

No dumb questions man. Everyone is learning. No tuner but you do have the ability to mute any input. I use snark tuners on the headstock of all my guitars so I just mute and tune that way.

When you change RHYTHM, MIC1, INST1-L & Loop Levels are you using your toe, or reaching down? I have the RC505mkII and I might buy a 600 to team them up for strengths/weakness in each designed box. My plan would be simpler if BOSS hadn't made the 600 with 6 tracks and the 505 with 5 tracks but c'est la vie...

My EXP 1 pedal takes all volumes going out of 600 up and down, including rhythm level. I changed loop levels to phones level for in ear. But yes to change mic and or inst level I have to use the knob. I will be doing that very rarely though. I am making sure to mimick all volume levels on every memory.

My wife is a wonderful lady! That is the answer to most of the questions about my kids. I think you can disable the rhythm and the light by pressing the “rhythm,” button once. Not the pedal but the little square one. I’m pretty sure it disables the rhythm and the light.

@@michaelchancellormusic You are a very lucky gentleman! Pressing the "rhythm" button doesn't disable the light.. first thing I tried and it was driving me a bit mad as it makes sense that it would! Found the solution with a bit of perseverance though, so in case it helps anyone this is how you do it: MENU - SETTINGS - LOOP INDICAT (third knob along parameter). This sets the beat light indicator to various settings, including stopping flashing ('RHYTHM', I think) which is what I wanted. My fave is now the 'BEAT' setting though! :). Happy looping! :D

Very well done. I gig with mine and all info makes the job easier. Do you have a demo of you using this setup? Do you know how to import a shaker into rhythm as a metronome for monitor? Odd question indeed but I do not find anyone working with editing drum tracks.

Hey Holden thanks for the kudos. I am in the midst of messing with all the EQ’s on the onboard mixer so a demo will come but it may take me a minute. I want to make sure I get the EQ’s where I want them first. I’m not sure about the shaker as I haven’t made my way through the rhythms yet however on the RC 300 I used a high hat for my Metronome and that started every loop but a shaker would be cool to.

@@michaelchancellormusic I'm fairly certain that you can import and export with some downloadable software thru the Boss website. For a PC, using a ucb-c cable (I believe) from the rc-600 to a computers standard USB input size running windows 8.1 or better. I'm pretty sure there are even rhythm tracks that people have uploaded for you to import onto the rc-600, and I wouldn't be surprised if one of them was a shaker.

You have an all start and all stop button that stops all at once however to stop certain tracks you will have to double tap the particular track you want to stop. Not hard once you get used to it. If you don’t like that you can change the single pedal loop functions around to your liking. It could be simply start/stop or start overdub etc.

appreciate your content. I'm struggling with this and can't find away around it unfortunately. I'm in mode 1. I want bank 1 to be receiving my drums from an external source. I want to be able to play that at a short loop say of 4 beats. I want that to be the bpm of the track so I set that first and it saves me looping drums for say 4 x 4 beats. I then want to go in to bank 2 and set a loop length say of 12 bars. now this is where it gets tricky and can't figure it out. say I've recorded guitar rhythm in bank two and now want to add other parts like harmonies or bass parts on the guitar. I want to add that to bank 3. for some reason they won't quantize together and the loop seems off. I know there's a global quantize but is there a way to set it so that when I set drums for 4 bars that banks two and three can be played longer but be quantized together? you can do this on the rc300 just by putting bank 1 in free mode and other two banks in auto mode. I bought this pedals for sound quality improvements, more inputs and outputs but it doesn't seem to do the one thing I want it to. I'll have to take it back otherwise.

Hey Robert! I am sorry about your frustration. Because I do not use the 600 in this way I’m afraid I will not be of much help. I use the onboard rhythms and then layer them with my drum pad. I am really liking the onboard rhythms and they are more than sufficient for what I do. Sorry man.

Hey Jason! So the harmony works well for me on the 600. I feel the quality is good but I use the harmonies very lightly during any chorus of a song to add substance. The only downside to the 600 harmony is that is has to be preset. It does not have auto harmony function which I think is a big mistake on Boss’s part. I simply preset my harmonies per memory so I guess not that big of a deal.

Hey Andreas! I use a pre amp called full range with the drive turned way down and the level way up. Then I adjust my low mids highs and presence to liking. I also use the mic feature. Find one you like as well as a speaker. I find it gives me a nice warm full acoustic sound.
