I was given a similar situation a very long time ago. He was young man ,made some mistakes, had to serve some time. I gave him a chance, protected his job. He kept his word with me,and stepped up his game at work . Never let me down. Also had the privilege of recommending him to a different job at a another company. He visited me several years later at work. He was married beautiful wife and two beautiful kids. Making great money at that job. He introduced me to his family and stated it was because of me. That he has what he has today. People are people we all make mistakes. Giving someone a chance ,can be the blessing they are looking for. Guess what it's a reward for you as well.

Damn , everytime i tried that they usually backstabbed me , some even literally . My students , my so-called friends , neighbors , family . They all sucked . I regret everything i did for them and if I could I'd go back in time and only help myself . I mean these people went from bad to so much worse , some of them died horrible deaths because of what they did . All the killings , rape , torturing animals , kids and women , men . Hell I'd be happy knowing i never have to see their face again .

It was extremely difficult to stay out of trouble, i would go door to door and ask to do yard work or wash cars whatever I could but it was still a struggle. I eventually did get a good job that didn’t care about my record and I managed a 200 million dollar project, got a bachelors degree and now manage my own section of a big company.

I really hate it when people equate only a piece of paper to quality. I in no way denigrate a college education; I have one myself BUT....I was doing as much if not more before I got one. When people mess up ( and to some.e degree, we all do ) they should not be punished for it for the rest if their lives; especially when they paid a so-called debt to society. Some of the most intelligent people I know didn't attend college for various reasons.

Good guy he never shied from admitting he'd made mistakes and deserved the punishment he got he just wanted his chance to be a better person. Really pissed me off when someone else from the work release stole from the company in question and everyone in the program paid the price. Criminals should face consequences for their crimes but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be given a second chance after they pay their dues.

I strongly believe in second chances and in the willingness of people to change for the better, but keep in mind that your past will always follow you and haunt you wherever you are and the worst of all this is when you are unfairly accused of something you never did like a crime you never committed or someone else did it and even then without proof they still accuse you. Moral of the story: Evil and injustice does exist.

It's a nice thought and it makes great content, but let's look away from lala land, here is the truth the background no matter how old it is will and does stop you from getting any job, and as for a place to live I hope you like motels and slum lords because this is the truth you can only get day labor, construction ( which some jobs you're not allowed to work on) and certain waste management jobs, and don't get me started with housing it's hotel/ motels and slums. That is the brass tax of it all
