Boss Rv-6 review with Violin

Fiddle + Boss RV-6. Violin pedal review. Listen through to hear how the RV-6 sounds with violin. I leave some loops on so that you can hear how the actual pedal impacts the fiddle sound with the different settings.

Running through a Roland JC90 with an sm57 that is all.
Fishman Platinum DI box.

I live loop violin (insta @joemajerus) through a Boss RC-30 and some other pedals (Lr Baggs venue, Boss Octave, and boss compression/sustainer). I’d love to see more violin centered reviews of gear. From some comments I read, it looks like you’ve got a 57 on a Jc90 amp which is coming out of a regular DI which is from an Lr Baggs pickup?

Nice! It's cool to see others instrument on the RV-6. I've got mine but I cant manage to make it work. I use stereo cable (one jack), do you think I should use a stereo cable that is in two parts (right and left) (mono)?

Hey! hope you got this figured out! mono cables should do fine just make sure you go in on the one that says mono (A) and out the (A) output as shown here.

I see there is an option to use an expression pedal. Would this be used to control the level, the time, or does it let you choose?

I believe you can choose. I honestly since moved to the strymon blue sky. I think especially for violin it is more natural if that's what you are looking for. Sounds like a real room

probably would be good but I'd look into doing a normal plug in pickup first like a bridge transducer or something installed like an lr baggs. But yea it would probably work with the AKG!

Yes I plug my acoustic violin into a preamp (red eye preamp and then into my pedals. It would work fine with an electric violin though as well
