Wow, this takes me back. I used to visit the Ernest Doe site in Rochford with my dad in the 1950s. We farmed on a county council smallholding opposite the end of the airport's main runway in Eastwoobury Lane. Google Maps shows that Ernest Doe still operates in Rochford, but looks a lot more swanky that I remember it.
