Hi man, I don’t use exp pedal with mine but I do know that nearly all perimeters can be accessed with one except for bank up & down (which is really odd for BOSS coz usually bank up & down is in there too). Hope this helps

I CANT SEEM TO GET THE VOCODER TO WORK USING A MIDI KEYBOARD.

Hi Paul, good question, I was of the impression that the vocoder takes its pitch from the instrument input BUT have a look at either the “source” within the vocoder block (it allows 1 of 2 selections I think but I think it’s either instrument or mic as source & not midi or try in the master section... On FB there are a few synth players in the Ve500 group & they’re probably gonna be more help to you as synth players - sorry I don’t have the answer 😬 hope you’re well

@@planzed463 thanks for the reply. Ive tried everything to do with the source. I think theres a bug or it doesnt do it unlike the VT4. A big mistake if it dosen't it would have to be returned.

Vocoder wise.. Vo1 vs ve500?

For me the ve500, it has the different modes but because of the other FX-blocks in the chain within the ve500 you can sculpt the tone/sound in more depth... plus you’ve got 100 patches to save your experiments

@@planzed463 yeah i agree with tone sculpt, the chain,banks and patches,... i mean if you compare just the vocoder and no other effects, does it's vocoder have more settings than the V01?

@@jasonmercado I don’t think so but the units are built differently.. you can see this in how the BOSS 200, 500 & 1000 series are set up, each block has slightly less parameters to adjust BUT we get additional production tools with the other blocks & features. So in my little head I can do more with the vocoder in the 500 over getting the 1. But remember, we’re all different & have different work flows; & this approach works for me but may not be to your taste
