I got one of these yesterday. You’re right, it’s expensive but it really is amazing and does everything! It is a must have if you own multiple tube amps! And I was also impressed with how good some of the factory I.R.s sound, they’re absolutely worth using. It has given me a whole new way to play around with my fire breathing tube amps without going deaf, and I have a feeling some of the smaller tube heads will be finding their way into my collection too! Great review as always Euge!

Excellent review Euge! I absolutely love mine- it's pretty much the only way I can play half my amps either at home or in clubs any more. To me and my ears- it allows my amps to sit in their sweet spot- and the "feel" is not changed at all- but the volume is down to a reasonable level or even sub- bedroom levels! Now I just have to figure out a good wiring/ patch panel switching system to get them all plugged in at at the same time so I don't have to plug and unplug each amp every time. You can tell how much you like it, Euge, each time you look up at the camera with that grin on your face!

My cousin owns a marshall jvm410h head and 2 16ohm cabs. He also owns a TAE and is asking me to help wire it in for him but im kinda confused how to.. The amp head has different speaker output options depending on what your using.. a 1x16, 1x8 or 2x16, 1x4 or 2x8.. normally id go with the 2x16 ohm option but the waza TAE only has One input. And then theres an ohm switch on the waza also.. which jack should i be using and what ohms setting on the waza???

How do you feel about TAE using its internal 100w solid-state amp to "re-amp" the incoming signal? Can you hear/feel the digitization? Thanks for the amazing review! I'm thinking about the TAE for my JCM 800 :)
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
That’s a good question. It didn’t caught my attention but that could actually be the reason that the Suhr sounds & feels the most ”musical” reactive load of the bunch I’ve tried & played with 😎.
@urussh3 жыл бұрын
Great review Euge as always! So do you mean Suhr RL sounds more musical as an reactive load? Would you still prefer the tone and feel of the Suhr RL via monitor speakers over Boss TAE solid state poweramp output via real cabinet?
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It feels the most musical since a load itself doesn’t really have a sound 😎. With a good reactive load I can get the same feel & sound in the studio like with a real mic’d cabinet and to be honest actually better and lot easier since mic’ing a cab properly and to get that into tape (DAW) isn’t always as easy as it looks (and sounds 😎). I haven’t actually recorded with a real cab in a few years but with the Suhr & Bogren IRs 👌.

I think you’ll find the the power amp of the TAE is analog- class A/B, which isn’t digital.

I've seen so many of your videos now and I have even consulted you on the 1987x channel bleed issue that I have and then discovered that I didn't subscribe to your channel. Now I do! And I have a proposal for a future video. I know you have tried out the JVM410 earlier but I would really like a head to head comparison between the JVM, JCM800 and a plexi, because if I could do "everything" with a JVM it would make life easier (and cheaper). What I am thinking is this: Can I get all those classic tones like Maiden, Rhoades, Mastodon, Malmsteen and so on with the JVM without sacrificing "IT"? Would be a really fun video to watch! Greetings from Stockholm! \m/
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that! Thanks! Yeah JVM can do pretty much anything but obviously the real deals are always the real deals. Good thing to keep also in mind is that the player makes the sound & not the amp really. An amp just amplifies what is feed into that and different amps amplify the players sound a bit differently. I mean I sound like myself no matter what gear I use but I just prefer to use mostly Marshalls 😎👌.
@oms12 жыл бұрын
Great video!! Probably a stupid question but do the IRs only work with the line out to the computer or do they also effect the tone coming out of the cab? I like the look of what it does but I’d be mainly using it as an attenuator. The THD hot plates I’ve used are ok but really colour the sound, does the Waza do the same when using it with a cab only? Thanks
@EugeValovirta230V2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Can’t remember anymore since I borrowed this to do the video but it’d be quite strange if it would affect the cab tone 😎.

It is no coincidence that you're drawn to your favorite speakers and combinations! I'm a Greenback fan too. Personally I never cared for V30's for some reason, but I do like G12-65's. Maybe a blending of Greenback and V30 tone? Like your Eminence speakers? The 4x10 clean sounds were very Fender-ish (Super Reverb). I really like your Phoenix guitar. The combination of a P90 neck and a humbucker bridge pickup is very useful. What's the neck profile like?
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Exactly! 😎👌 It’s kinda like a semi thick C - profile. Very close to my Custom Shop Eclipses which has a thicker neck than on standard ones.

I have the original Torpedo Captor 8 and I add IRs and effects in DAW. Nice and simple, but I do wonder how it compares to this or the Suhr stuff. I mentioned in the past how my beast of a JMP 50 replica running above 8 overpowers my load box and how I am thinking of adding a master volume mod to solve that issue. I would not need to with this Waza gadget, because it handles more power. But the price is very hefty. I am supposed to be saving for an Explorer or one of those '61 reissue SGs, not buying more gadgets. Getting close now. I realized another way to solve that too much grunt for my load box problem is to use a variac. I checked with the guy from Ceriatone amps and he says it is safe to use the variac to drop the JMP down from 230v to about 175v. It changes the tone though. In a good way according to some.
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Like I said I haven't had any problems with the Suhr. I tried cranking my 5150 (120w amp) past seven and the Suhr handled it just fine. But I wouldn’t recommend doing it constantly. And the 5150 sounds the best IMO with the master between 3-4 😎.

@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know 😎. I guess it depends what you need 👌.
@geocmartin65933 жыл бұрын
@@EugeValovirta230V Yeah. I just want it to usa my valve amp heads with a load for direct/silent recording. I know I could do that with a Suhr and IRs but I also want to be able to record in stereo, which is something the Boss has. I was looking into the UA OX but I hate the fact that you can only connect it to the computer with wifi as it has no USB or any other physical connection. So I'm wouldn't buy it. So, my point is that I like the Boss TAE but as I'm never going to use it in a live situation, maybe as a home recording only device is a bit too big an investment as I might be able to achive the same results with something like the Suhr, except fot stereo tracking. Anyway, I went a bit long here, but thanks man.
