The hiding from wife 'bar phone rates' is a flash back to before everybody had cell phones. Wives looking for their husband would have to phone the bar phone which was behind the bar. It would have been well worth the $3 to have the bartender tell your wife on the phone that you had one drink (as promised) but left afterwards. For three bucks you could likely stay for another drink no matter how many you have actually had before then. Cell phones screwed that up major time.

Some children were seen near manhole covers trying to catch a glimpse of Ninja turtles. I believe it. When I was a very young child I watched a movie about Martians invading Earth. I had a hard time getting to sleep that night, thinking the Martians were going to come any minute.
