This actually brings a bit of insight for us into the Persian kingdom in GOW series. Base on how the king only refers to the glory of the empire and doesn’t mentions any gods, and how he mocks the olympian gods by calling them “little”, It seems like they don’t have gods but their power comes from taming beasts (like the basilisk) and the demons (like the Efreet).

Most of the Persians, at least during the height of the Achaemenid Empire were Zoroastrians; a faith that follows one god. So yeah, it would make sense that who ever the Persian king in this game is based on (Xerxes, Darius, etc) would not think highly of the Greeks' deities.

One thing to note about this is that, apparently, the sword was sheathed when the Persian King went to grab a handful of the gold in the original PSP version of the cutscene, but stayed stuck in his hand and as a result clipped through his body in this version. This is a testament to how in-engine cinematics are still very much subject to the rules of a game engine and can bug out as a result, even if the lighting, camera angles, added effects, and animations make it look more like a separately CG cinematic.

UrielTheJudge I do think that Kratos has some sense of honor when dealing with his already defeated enemies that cant really defend themself any more. Like, in many cases, Kratos insists of using his bare hands or another object instead of his blades.
