I'm almost tempted to say that he won't immediately aggro you like some monsters in world just by looking at his interaction with Rathian. He didn't even attack until she roared at him, he was just admiring the sheen on his freshly sharpened tail- blade.

My only issue is not a fan of yet another fire monster being brought in. There's enough of those already in the game, imo. Would've preferred Zinogre, but at least the armour looks nice for Glavenus.

Probably G rank hard. He's more aggressive and has a few new moves, including a charged tail slash where he holds his tail up like "see this? I'mma hit you with it" and WOW does that one hurt.

If you're here from the new trailer for Iceborne, let me explain. Glavenus [ディノバルド] is a Brute Wyvern that originated from Monster Hunter X (Cross) [MH Generations in America]. This monster is one out of four flagship monsters from Generations called "The Fated Four"

He bites a lot, if you stay far you are in danger if you stay close stay where you dont trigger his bites. He does a charged 360 attack wich is a nearly 1 hit ko.

I honestly think this is my favourite fight in MHGU (so far, I've only beaten the main village quests), not the best, but the one I enjoyed the most. Also, that boss theme is on point. Also, fuck the Nerscylla.

Only the tip of the tail can be cut off.

Yes, but it’s tricky because of two things: 1. You can only cut it when it’s red hot, so pretty much only when it’s angry. 2. Glavenus’ legs are pretty strong, so if you want to make it trip and fall to attack his tail you must focus on its head, which is also tricky since he’s a tall monster.

You can, however you need to get him in rage mode to make his tail heated, and to topple him you need to exploit an evolutionary flaw, it’s flame sac located in its throat, if you attack it enough times it will cause a reaction and ignite on itself, making Glavenus topple due to the explosion

It’s the smartest and fairest Brute Wyvern, and it has the same evolutionary weakness as Anjanath, it’s throat can explode when it’s been hit enough times while it’s heated. However, don’t underestimate it and think it’s just Anja with a huge tail attached to it, its formidable
