The animation is great, but it has a pre-rendered feeling (except it uses hand-drawn animation, not 3D, so "pre-rendered" is not the right term). For example, look at the scene between 11:30 and 11:31. The knockout animation is just a video abruptly played with no transition from the previous position of the boss. The idea of the game is great, the animation is great, but it's not impressive technically.

The prologue said that Cuphead and Mugman are given powers to shoot out projectiles from their fingers because the Devil wanted Cuphead and Mugman to get the other residents of Inkwell Isle to grab the debts of the other residents. The residents are the bosses you fought for a while in the game. The point is: you can't beat the bosses by punches or kicks, but rather the ability given to the player.

I love how King Dice's hands show emotion in the death screen! They look like dancing people when the cards are on board, but when he loses, the left one (on the screen) seems to cry (hands on its 'eyes') and the right one hits the ground in frustration. They even have those sad eyes going on with the frown! This game has so many great details.

Not related to casinos, but related to the theme of betting. 7.- Pirouletta - Roulette 8.- Mangosteen - Pool. Can also be related to the Magic 8-Ball. 9.- Mr. Chimes - The Claw Game 10.- King Dice - The dice, the symbol of random chance. The Symbol of Casinos.

1 and 2 are correct, 3, most casinos do allow smoking indoors, 4, dominos aren't a casino thing, but people do play domino games for money. 5 is right. Six, a lot of casinos have horse race betting. 7 is right. Eight, pool, like dominos, is played for money (That's what pool hustling is). 9, claw games are more associated with beachside carnivals and arcades, who have been and, in come countries, are accused of encouraging gambling, especially among younger people. 10 is right.

(And as promised, the King's Court.) Johnny, Ginny and Morgan (a bottle of whiskey, a martini glass, and a glass of rum, respectively), collectively known as the "Tipsy Troop", were ne'er-do-wells from back in the days of the Prohibition. Alcohol had a way of messing with their enemies' heads, but at the same time it left the three with a near-permanent "buzz". King Dice enlisted the three beverage brawlers into his "court", largely as a front line of defense against those who would try to disrupt his so-called reign. One of the King's lesser adversaries in the Devil's Casino was a small-time gambler named Chips Bettigan. Like King Dice, he loved a good gambling round, especially if he could add more chips to his "collection". After being humiliated by King Dice during a particularly crucial blackjack game, he was reluctant to join up with the King when he gained his position as manager, but as long as he could gamble (and avoid being thrown out by his former opponent), he was happy to play along. King Dice, building up his private army in hopes of perpetuating his wealth and fortune, took to smoking occasionally to relieve some of the stress of dealing with problem customers in the Devil's Casino. His favorite cigar, which he called "Mr. Wheezy", was smoked again and again, but never ran down, and the King wasn't about to just snuff it out while it was useful. Once the Devil took over, so to speak, Mr. Wheezy was given life, and promised to help King Dice as thanks for keeping him lit and cared for. He aimed to be the guardian of the king's first "checkpoint"; nobody would be safe as long as he could get in their way. It wasn't hard to see why Pip and Dot loved each other so much. Two faces of the same domino, they were (literally) inseparable, though there were some times they didn't get along. Dot was content with simply being like all of the other dominos, finding others who were like them and sticking together. But her husband Pip had bigger dreams. He wanted to be more than just another domino, he wanted to be important. King Dice offered the couple a chance to serve under him--they would still be around other dominos, like Dot wanted, but it also allowed Pip to realize his dream about being important; they agreed, and together they became the fourth of the King's sentries. In the Devil's Casino, gambling, drinking and smoking weren't the only forms of diversion the Devil offered. There were also live shows, and one of the more popular performers was a hair-brained (or should that be _hare-brained_ ) magician called "Hopus Pocus". His manic, almost demented demeanor and his tendency toward macabre illusions and morbid "tricks" would have probably appalled any normal audiences, but at the Devil's Casino he was a big hit. King Dice reckoned he could use a man (or a rabbit) with Hopus's influence and magical power, and offered him a position in the King's Court. After some negotiations, Hopus accepted the job and became guardian number five. While searching for the sixth member of his personal court, King Dice remembered a rowdy fellow everyone called "Phear Lap". King Dice knew of Phear Lap; he ran the booth at the Casino where people betted on horse races. The bony old horse was a fast talker and a fast mover, hovering around in a specialized contraption so he could keep an eye socket on the races and those who had placed their bets. When offered a position with King Dice, Phear Lap initially refused, but after some thought reconsidered his decision. After all, he thought, maybe some of King Dice's good luck would rub off on him. Pirouletta, a roulette wheel in the Devil's Casino, wasn't exactly satisfied with her job. Granted it paid well and she was good at what she did, but what she truly wanted to do was dance; her aspirations were to be a prima ballerina, whirling and twirling on a stage for cheering fans instead of monitoring a plastic ball for seedy gamblers. King Dice sympathized with her plight, and promised her that, if she joined him, she could dance as much as she wished. Her position being what it was, she accepted, and found that King Dice was true to his word. She vowed she would defend King Dice, fearing deep in her heart that, if he was defeated or the worst should come, she would lose her freedom to dance. It was unknown exactly how King Dice came to the attention of the manic 8-ball known by drunken pool hustlers as "Mangosteen" (it was believed they were trying to say something else, but it merely came out "Mangosteen"), but the billiard ball actually sought out the King, rather than the reverse. It didn't seem to make sense, but then again, neither did most of anything coming from the ball's mouth. Well...except for a few seemingly random predictions about King Dice's gambling decisions before he became the manager, which wound up coming true. Remembering Mangosteen's cryptic (and, frankly, crazy) guidance that had helped him amass his riches, King Dice took it as a sign and employed the ball as, fittingly, the eighth member of the King's Court. Mr. Chimes was an enigmatic creature. A simple toy monkey with two (loudly) clanging cymbals, it seemed relatively innocuous, even for the Devil's Casino. It was said by some that he was possessed by the spirit of a deceased maniac who'd escaped from an asylum, but nobody knew for sure...all they knew was that it was clutched tight in the claw of a large crane machine, waiting for someone to match up the cards on the machine's back--after which it flew into a rage, smashing its cymbals and whirring around in the crane's claw like a lunatic. Such power, King Dice thought, would be useful...but he didn't want to keep the beast too far out of his sight for fear of it going berserk, so he made Mr. Chimes the ninth and final sentinel of his court. With his court thus assembled, King Dice thought himself invincible. But why not make things interesting, he mused, and let his enemies have a chance to choose their fate...? It was no guarantee that anyone who opposed him would face ALL of the members of his little gang, but nobody would reach him unopposed either.

This is the strategy that I found to be the most effective: Before you enter the fight, equip Charge, Chaser, Super 1, and Smoke Dash. Once you start the fight, land the dice on 1. This will make you fight the Tipsy Troop. First, take out the Rum with Charge shots. Then use either Charge or Chaser on the Martini Glass. When she has 3 olive bats, aim up with Chaser. When that's done, use Charge on the Whiskey Bottle. All of them will go down in roughly 6 shots each, and you'll have almost enough cards for a super. Land a 3 on the dice so you land on a safe space, and then land a 1. This will commence the fight with Pip and Dot, the domino duo. They gave me a lot of trouble, but would you rather fight Hopus Pocus or Phear Lap? I didn't think so. Anyway, always keep an eye on the spikes. They're surprisingly annoying! You also don't want to jump when there's one of those hexagon thingies that Pip and Dot spit out. Be patient, and make every move count. You can use your super anytime in this fight, but I used it right when the boss released a domino bird, so I killed the bird. Back at the Craps table, land a 3 again to land on a safe space, and land yet another 1 to fight Pirouletta. Now this is where Smoke Dash truly shines! You can dash through both of her attacks with it and still keep on shooting at her! Keep whittling her health down, and you've beaten all the required minibosses! On the Craps table, be ready to make your most important parry in the whole fight. If you mess up, you'll either fight Mr. Chimes or start over. Both of these are nightmares! If you've made it to King Dice's fight, quickly jump over his hand and dash behind his arm. Make small jumps and shoot up with Chaser. This way, at least some shots will hit King Dice. When he raises his arm again, quickly move to the center of the stage. When he sends another volley of card soldiers, dash behind his arm and repeat, repeat, repeat. It'll be a bit scary, but I'd much rather thread the needle than parry a thousand cards. Once you knock him out, King Dice's hands will be crying and you'll have beaten that dice at his own game!

It's Black's silly dice maze from Gunstar Heroes, but with Max Fleischer styled visuals. The 8-ball miniboss is even a dead ringer for Melon Bread. Not that this should surprising due to King Dice himself and how TREASURE-esque the rest of the game is styled, it telegraphs revisiting this gimmick from the second you meet King Dice.

Tip that saved my life during the actual King Dice battle: King Dice starts attack from left. Where he'll go to right then to left, then right, then left, then left again. Every 6th time he attacks he uses the same spot he attacked last time. While hiding behind his hands, count how many times he used his attack. Or if you're not a noob like me, do it the old fashioned way and just take his attacks head on

Just beat this on the Switch this weekend. Took forever to get past this, but finally found a formula that worked for me. 1. Use the parry charm. Helps a lot, especially once you get to King Dice himself. 2. I try to land on spaces 2, 4 and 8. Those are the poker chips, dominos and 8-ball bosses. I think they are the easiest ones to get past without losing energy. 3. When you equip the parry charm, you will stop the die once you jump, so jump once you see the number BEFORE the one you want to land on. You will be in much more control of your destiny and where you land on the board. 4. Never use the super move on the three mini bosses. Save it up for King Dice. 5. Try to get hit only once or less against the mini bosses. You want to have at least 3 hits available against King Dice, since he's so inconsistent with where he puts the pink cards when he does his move. 6. Once you start the fight with King Dice, immediately go to the right side of the screen, jump and use the super move. That should take a good chunk of health. Switch over to the spread weapon and hit him after you parry/avoid the cards. Build up the super move, switch to the single shot and use the super move again. Two of those, plus using the spread weapon, should do the trick.

Nope, movies and cartoons made in the 1930s actually used Analog Film Reels, if you remaster them properly, they will look like they were made today, also, they were originally shown on projectors, I think the quality of a movie projector back then is exactly that, a lot of grain, but still very clear to see. 144p is stuff for VHS tapes and early internet videos.

I would like to add a lore story: King Dice owned the sole casino in Inkwell Isle. He made alot of money from it, mostly because the slots were rigged. But he was a clever cheater, he let gamblers think they are lucky until they get too reckless, and then he takes everything in one roll of the loaded dice. The Devil was intrigued and decided to drop by for a friendly game with owner, with his soul on the line. Dice knew this was a bet he couldn’t win, but he decided to make a different deal. He offered him the souls of reckless gamblers from his casino in exchange for being the Devils right hand. The Devil saw no downside so he accepted. King Dice became richer than ever, and the Devil got more soul from the denizens of Inkwell in one year than the last millennia, it was a partnership they were both happy with. But King Dice was playing a long term gamble. He knew the Devil couldn’t resist making deals, so he waited for the day when he would make a bet with the Devil and make sure he won, and when he did he would become the new king of hell.

Man, I felt silly when I figured out you can juggle on one card multiple times. That fact alone makes the last phase a bit of a cakewalk as long as you maintain composure, but after making it past the plethora of boss fights leading up to King Dice, there's no way I'd be in the state to figure that out. I had gotten so used to things disappearing when they're parried and considering there's a whole conga-line ahead of you, my mind wasn't really gravitated towards the cards I'd already passed.

Btw, in the final boss round of fighting kind dice, if you hide behind the hand that's casting the cards nothing will hit you. Just go all the way from one side of the screen to the next with those seeking bullets on, it's super easy.

Because you're watching a cartoon. Pieces of cartoons played together, with some flickering effect to indicate when you hit an enemy. It has the same stiffness feeling as pre-rendered 3D games, except it's hand-drawn animation, not 3D. You can see it clearly between 11:30 and 11:31. The knockout animation is a video abruptly played, with no proper transition from the previous position of the boss.

(Seems people really want me to do these for King Dice and the mini-bosses...hoo boy, not sure how it'll go but I will give it a shot. King Dice will be this comment, another for the 9 mini-bosses.) Before King Dice became the Devil's lackey and manager of the Devil's Casino, he was quite the prominent gambler all the same...well, perhaps "prominent" wasn't the right word. He was *notorious* more than anything, the type of fellow who would have cashed his own mother in for betting chips if anyone would let him. But he never had the chance; for whatever reason, no matter what he played, King Dice always came out on top. Sure, there were a few losses here and there, but for the most part, the gambler always managed to far outweigh his losses with his wins. His penchant for gambling and his record of winning were what brought him the moniker "King Dice". Of course, once he heard of the Devil's Casino, where the stakes were high but the rewards were higher, he couldn't seek it out fast enough. After all, he already had "the luck of the devil", as they said, so why shouldn't he give it a try? Ol' King Dice met the casino with open arms, indulging in numerous vices, including drinking, smoking and, of course, GAMBLING. He rose through the gambling ranks--from simple tricks like the crane game to the roulette wheel and even horse racing--building a steady stack of winnings wherever he went. But it wasn't long before the big-time gambler caught the eye of the casino's owner, none other than the Devil himself. The Devil personally congratulated King Dice on his victories but knew the King's fatal weakness--he couldn't say no to a big gamble. Thus the Devil suggested the King go all in, one last game of the Devil's choosing: poker...with all the King's winnings on the line. This was no big deal for King Dice, he'd won loads of poker tournaments in his day...but, of course, the Devil didn't need to PLAY well enough. He just had to CHEAT well enough, and cheat he did. When all was said and done, the unthinkable had happened. King Dice had _lost._ Not only this, but the Devil informed the King (to his dismay) that *_ALL_* of the King's winnings were at stake, not only what he'd won in the Devil's Casino. A good deal of money he'd already spent, winnings he didn't have. King Dice was ruined, penniless. Not only this, but he was still in debt to the Devil. For a moment it seemed like he had nothing left to lose but his soul. But King Dice was given one last chance--one last chance to keep his soul _and_ avoid going bankrupt. All he had to do was serve under the Devil. Weighing his options carefully (not that he had very many at this point), King Dice at last accepted the Devil's offer, and was thusly appointed the manager of the Devil's Casino. While he didn't get to gamble quite as often as he liked, he had a job now, so money was still rolling in, and the King felt right at home in that den of sin. King Dice... The gamest in the land, and the Devil's right-hand man.

King Chesster the king chess piece is the main guy this is an air battle as the background is entirely a chess board the boss will only have 1 attack which is to move chess pieces along the board, if cuphead happens to be in the way of the movement...he will take damage the path will glow for a small moment so that you have time to move out of the way Movements include Rooks, Bishops, and knights When beaten his death quote would be something like "The dice isn't the only king around these parts son!" 2. An evil slot machine that I will call "slider/spinner" similar to the slot machine from ribby and croaks final phase and king dices...die...the slot machine will be invulnerable until you hit a parry switch that stops the slots the slots go by slowly and go in a specific order so you can almost kinda choose which attack you want to deal with 1 attack is "jackpot" in which he will eject a thousand coins into the air and they start falling from the sky which cuphead/mugman must avoid by...not being crushed under any, another attack is a dud in which nothing happens but coins will fly from behind cuphead/mugman in a strange flying pattern (via loop de loop or etc) and head into the coin slot to respin the slots his death quote can be "luck just isn't on your side today isn't it?" What do you think? is it doable? is it original and clever? YOU DECIDE
