Great review, Tim! Weathering aside, I think this has been my favorite release of the year. The Droid is just so cool! I really hope that we get Shin's fighter from Ahsoka. We need more new media ships in TVC.

I didn’t really remember this E-Wing from the canon, but I loved its look in Ahsoka. I know many would have like it weathered, but I actually like it better with the more clean look to it. At this time in Ahsoka, it was nice to see a newer fighter, than all the older ships that were in rough shape and severely weathered. To me, this looks like it flew out of the Republic shipyard. I’m eager for mine to arrive, and I definitely ordered Lt. Callahan. Nice review, and I’m excited to see this alongside our Ghosts which hopefully will be here in early December!

I have 2 E-Wings. I may get a 3rd. The E-Wing is so awesome and KE4 is probably in my top 5 astromechs. I only wish Hasbro would have included Lieutenant Callahan with the E-Wing and they could have released Captain Porter separately or vice versa. Either way it would have been nice to have both pilots released at the same time as the E-Wing.

Me too actually; very toyetic and reminiscent of the vintage Kenner vehicles and all ‘80’s toy vehicles. It’s so classic yet the added mold details and textures on the ship make it look more realistic and shaded somewhat, even without weathering. It has that newer ship feel, which I like to contrast with weathered ship we have in TVC. Variations are nice in the overall look of world building. I do hope Hasbro doesn’t drop weathering all the way though.

This ship is amazing and I'm very happy with it. It could use a better paint app and hopefully Hasbro can step it up with other future vehicles. A great rival for this ship could be a a Tie Defender or the Tie Avenger since it has appeared in the Andor trailer.

I'm sure we'll get a weathered version down the road. As for this first version, the clean look gives the ship a fun kind of late 70s/early 80s "vibe." Think Milton Bradley's Star Bird or Mego's Buck Rogers starfighter......This'll pair nicely with the Ghost same as the vintage X-Wing pared with the Falcon.

Had mine for about a month now but haven't opened it yet, Waiting till we actually get a pilot for it. Can't believe they release this with out a pilot. It's not Kenner in the 70's and 80's anymore. The droid looks awesome . Can't wait to get the pilot so can open it. As always Tim great video. Look for to your next one.

It's a nice basic vehicle. In the old days it'd be in the $40 range- I have a feeling it's far above that, considering comments. That droid is cool- I would definitely pick that up, if I was still collecting. Great review! 😎👍

I love the look (old school N-64 Rouge Squadron player) the detail but yeah too clean..no vehicle that travels in and out of planet atmospheres are that clean battle or not..I might grab it..cheers Tim🍺🍺🍻

Good review. I kinda wondered what the hold up was as most of us in the States have had ours for a couple wks or so. That never happens, but even so, it'd be nice to have more coordinated releases. It just takes a bit of the air out of the release

The weathering on vintage collection vehicles has been hit or miss. Its often heavy handed with no thought. I'm glad this one is clean, hell I'd want a clean X-wing to boot. I light wash will bring out the line work for those that want it and it will look way better than the smears and smudges that the blue squadron X-wing has.

Ngl I’d love to get a second and have a couple 3D printed parts swapped in to make a version like the dark empire one too, I imagine it’d be easy enough with that whole removable panel that secures the droid in place; copy its dimensions, make some new details and add the roof-mounted gun to the replacement panel. Maybe make two versions of that so there can be versions with exposed astromechs and fully concealed ones?

I assumed that KE4-N4 was supposed to mean "Keanu", for some reason. For me, the lack of weathering is no problem. It's easy and fun to do it yourself. I disassembled my Black Series Snowspeeder and fully painted the interior, then panel lined the outside to make the detail pop. Dark brown Tamiya Panel Liner is perfect for darkening the recesses and giving a toy a hint of grime and corrosion. Anyone can do it, it's dead simple.

Judging by the price point and the performance of the Mando N1, I’m happy to stew on this for a bit before pulling the trigger, but it looks excellent! I really can’t believe Hasbro even made an E-Wing or it was featured on the show. I’m sure another release in the future will have weathering

The e-wing is a brand new ship in this time period and they have never seen combat and that's why it looks the way it does. It looks exactly like it does in the show and in the show there really isn't any weathering on it.

I think you need to look again buddy. Especially when it parks in the middle of the road. There used to be plenty of weathering on it and not just on the working parts/ wiring either. The wings, engines, pretty much all of it as some level of grime.

Hole in the ground just posted the middle blaster for the E-wing. It fits in the droid socket.

I always thought there should be a cover for the "Droid hole" when not in use. Like in Empire when R2 rises up from the X Wing. Something to employ better in atmosphere aerodynamics without a droid?

I’ve had mine for a little while but have not opened it. Maybe this weekend. I know the weathering continues to be an issue for all TVC products. My gut is feeling the same it did toward the end of the GI Joe modern 3 3/4th run. Right about that time TJ Maxx and Marshals (discount stores) were filled with clearance products. Then Hasbro started doing a ton of repack/repaints. Occasionally a really great product came out, but then the weathering and paint apps started to suffer…Sad, Sad time to watch it come to an end. I hope I’m wrong about TVC…but my gut is pretty accurate over the years.

A few have said this. But if you look at the ones in Ahsoka they do have weathering. They are not super clean. Just look at when it was parked I the middle of the road.

Very nice looking ship, really like the design, but yeah, the lack of weathering is glaring. As usual when Hasbro does very good vehicles, I'm going to complain that the very cool figure is locked behind an expensive vehicle/playset. 😵‍💫 I'm going to wait for the delux release of this ship. The one that comes with Lt. Callahan from Police Academy. She's gonna look fab on the shelf. 🤣

I really want one, but now having seen how the front of the cockpit canopy doesn't really look as if it sits 'right' I'm in two minds... Repainting this would be a nice and easy project (I hate blue!) and adding washes would bring some of the detail to life. Just that canopy... is it not seated right or something???

Got mine a couple of weeks ago and I love it, however, it has a few production issues- one of the landing gear doors doesn't stay closed properly, the corner of the left wing isn't flush with the main body and the back cover doesn't sit flush. Bit disappointed for $220AUD. I haven't seen these issues elsewhere so hopefully it's just my copy

Nice sculpting but with the lack of paint apps and weathering it looks like a vehicle from the 5poa line for last jedi. I am surprised Hasbro cheaped out on that. Cockpit looks so basic, nothing on the screen, no stickers. Looks so cheap. Kinda glad I canceled it after some thought on the price. For that cost it should have had better paint apps, that's what tvc is for. Def not collector grade level it should be.

It's a cool ship and droid... But I can't take the New Republic seriously, one of the worst and most stupid factions the way they have written them they are extremely soft and have no common sense. Look forward to Thrawn absolutely destroying them which is what will happen and if they don't erase the Sequels they then end up an even more pathetic faction the boring Temu Rebellion The Resistance who are just soulless and boring has no worldbuilding and makes zero sense.
