Since I’ve already been working on my org for almost a year, without a board just doing projects etc. does the board have to establish a mission statement? If I already have one?

No since it's already in place but it could be helpful to bring them on to review and assess if it's still relevant. When people are part of planning they tend to be more engaged in the execution of the work of the org
