I love this battle because it's the sequel to the prior years final where Hong 10 was finally able to win in the final. If Ronnie wanted to make the final and finally win this competition, he had to beat the reigning champion who beat him in last years finals. The drama!!!

As Ronnie said before, he tries to keep it unpredictable... which he does excel at. He does recycle some moves for sure, but he doesn't recycle entire sets. I got mad love for Hong 10, and he is no doubt my favorite bboy... but you could see some recycled sets from 2005 and 2006 for the 2007 battle.

exactly.hong 10 already won with his style in 2006, and not ronnie.thats why ronnie won.hong 10 didnt change his style, which is the only way of winning compititions like this a second time in a row.ronnie didnt need to, because he never won yet.but ronnie did actually improve.did you see his second set?never really used that the year before.the judges are going hard on hong 10 because to win a second time,and make history,you have to deserve it by doing something big [changing style,improving].

yeah man, i totally agree. Ronnie is a beast when it comes to clean execution in his moves and sets. Hes just overall an amazing bboy. I personally just think Hong 10 is better, but anyway. RONNIE definitely deserved this win man

There was a certain force behind his moves he had then that wasn't necessarily gone in 07, but it lacked. I don't know if that makes sense.

i don't agree with you (about hong 10's attitude changing), hong 10 actually says in his interview that he had to even miss out on some of the battles drifterz took part in just to prepare for BCone, and i think he has improved a lot from 06 (esp. top rock and added variation to his moves). but i do see that the battle attitude has changed for lilou and ronnie tho.

Hard to say if he matched the music, because Redbull dubs over the actual music of the battle (something about property rights, and they don't want to have to pay in order to use it on the DVD or something. i dunno). They usually do a good job matching the tempo, but who knows, Ronnie could have been feeling the kick drum or a bass line or something. If we could find a video someone took from the audience that wasn't dubbed over, then we could tell if he matched the flow of the music.

If I were you I wouldn't criticise his style moves. Look again. They're taken at leisurely pace and the movement is smooth. it's not sloppy, it's the alternating balance that breaks the monotony. His only problems are his limited length in powermoves i.e. He can't keep them up more than four or five revolutions.
