Denver sent a reminder. When they get serious they are so difficult to stop. Jokic was and Murray were simply majestic 69 points between them on incredible efficiency. Great win by the defending champs against what many consider the best team in the NBA in the Celtics. This was also a game for Jokic to honor Dejan Milojevic Jokic’s coach and mentor who passed away and he played like it.

It's fascinating in this game seeing all of the wildly different styles. Celtics have a lot more athletic speed and power scoring. Nuggets are all about the slick passes and elegant shots. Tatum might be more exciting to watch with his eurostep slam dunks, but Murray to me is more interesting and entertaining. He has the utmost finesse to his game. He relies on timing, quickness, and getting the shot he wants. He doesn't force anything. He hunts for the tiniest opportunity of the defense being a little slow, or a little late, or giving him just an inch of breathing room. And he's astonishing to me with the mid game. He's scoring with such efficiency meanwhile his shots are largely contested, or fade away double clutches. Just maddeningly difficult shots to knock down consistently, and he does it more consistently that many other highly paid players do with easier looks. His game will age much better also than ones based on raw speed and power. Harden had to make that adjustment from when he had the speed and quickness to step back or blow by with his first step at will. I'm told Murray was more athletic when he was younger. I don't know. I'm only watching him now. But his game looks resilient to time. He works so well with so little. Just like Jokic. Hunting for the greatest advantage, and then making the most of it. They both had such a diverse bag of shots. Murray has these astounding looping backboard lays and scooping floaters like Steph uses, but relying more on timing than on getting by everybody. That's what do beautiful about his game to me. He doesn't look for the open shot. He finds the shot that he sees is open regardless of how small the window for it is. Anyway

Tatum Chokery. I LOVED how he was playing in these clips--seemed hella engaged, en fuego for real for the first time I've seen in a LONG time. Normally he just seeps sleep walking out there. Lackadaisical. He finally woke up. He needs to play like this more, so that, in the big moments at the end, he doesn't get shook out of his stance--he's fully IN that. I LOVED D White out there. That smooth Turret cannon support from the beach just lining em up, and knockin em down. Crucial Effect. AL! He can be in on that 2 man punch from 3 with KP! KP--what an absolutely PERFECT fit for this team. Good job Brad!!! JBROWN needs to turn it up a notch too. Let this Tatum FUEGO ignite Browns competitive passion even more! Bruins might have beat Avs last night, but Nuggets made sure to avenge their roommates. On of the best things about Jamal is how he responds to mistakes. During the first trip this Nuggets core had to the playoffs they had the lead halfway through the 4th in game 7 of the 2nd round, then the entire team ran out of gas. Murray took that loss personally, next year was the bubble and we all saw the performance he put that year. Then he misses 2 playoffs due to injury, comes back last year and puts up a legendary performance again. Last game against Sixers he had no turnovers all night, until the very end where he had 3 in a row and cost them the game, he showed up tonight wanting to atone for that. Look out for Aaron Gordon having a monster game next time because he will be trying to make up the triple-double he cost Jokic tonight.
