Homarus americanus. The American Lobster. Same species. Maine tried to get ownership of the ubiquitously accepted name “Maine Lobster” and would have required that lobsters so named MUST come from Maine waters. Nice try Mainiacs!😊

Had a cook out on the beach in Maine, kind of cool eating lobster and watching the fog roll in. They told me in Nova Scotia how to catch lobster. Get women's panty hose and put salmon cat food it and hang it over the side. Lobsters come to the cat food and get their legs caught up in the hose.

Watching Florida keys weather and so far looks good for your trip. Lobstering is hard work and if you don't like the cold get a desk job. If you like sandy beaches montauk and the Hamptons rated #2 in us. Not just for the rich and famous but just fixed ac in 25 million dollar shack.

Happy to see you enjoying our cold water lobster, here in Shediac NB Canada we have the same species. If it’s okay to post here is a link to a interpretive cruise in our area, shediacbaycruises.ca/lobstertales/ Following your theme, a story. Lobster is now considered a delicacy but in years past the effluent family’s kids had PPJ sandwiches for lunches at school and the poorer kids lobster. In those days whole lobsters where also used for fertilizer. Today however the shells are collected from the processing plants, dried, pulverized and used as fertilizer. Enjoy your video’s, next time steaming your lobsters, removing the bands first is our way eh! Mike
