Laika was a dog that was sent to space by the USSR, while orbiting the earth the life support system failed, letting the temperature of the capsule get to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, (40 degrees Celsius) causing Laika to pass away from overheating, and her to be stuck in space. which is why it says "as lonely as Laika, up there all alone, you miss the atmosphere the stars are now your home"
