As a native Bostonian thanks for putting our city in such a good light. For those who want to go on a relatively inexpensive harbor trip (seasonal) take the Castle Island ferry.

@@EverydayJourneysTV great thing to do would be take the Boston Harbor Island Ferrys. Not that expensive. About 45 minute boat ride, that goes past Logan and kids love seeing the planes so low. Geroges Island has a fort, its a good day You can buy tickets on line, probably the day of. There are other harbour boats but they are more expensive. I do however think the Aquarium Whale Watch is good. Also Walk around the Freedom Trail. Fanueil Hall is OK. Harbour Walk. North End for Italian. Not sure what I recommend now for seafood. Lots of good ethnic food, but you should watch some videos. (What do you like? Perhaps I can recommend a place) Unfortunately public transportation sounds like is going to be caos. Duck Boats are fun. Museum of Science is also great for kids. Aquarium Its a walkable city. Lots of history if they like that. Harvard Square is interesting. Hope that helps.

I lived outside of Boston for 60+ years. I worked on many parts of Big Dig, which was removal of elevated roadway, I remember they were thinking of leveling Quincy Market. Did not know what to do with the three buildings. I sat on Castle Island during Operation Sail Boston 1976, best free event I ever witnessed with USS Constitution heading the parade of Tall Ships into Boston Harbor. At Castle Island the Tall Ships were under sail, such a site. Such a great city-miss it but not winters

The construction of the freeway under the ground was known as the “great dig.” I remember when it was underway in the 90s and it took a really, really long time to complete. I think it started in the 80s if I’m not mistaken.

A nice small city that can be visited in a week. You’ll see a lot of the city in a week. The down side right now there’s no open sky walk and I hope the Prudential Center will open again after renovations.

From someone who grew up in America, specifically the Boston area: The Boston Tea Party was all about TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. In fact, the entire Revolution was essentially about that as well. With the Boston Tea Party, the colonists refused delivery of the tea and therefore the associated tax. If you ever come back to Boston, I highly recommend going on an outing with an outfit that schedules Boston Tea Party reenactments. You should be able to learn, along with your traveling companions, a bit [more] of history at the same time.
