Was it the same as it was in 1977? No. Was it still a remarkable performance? Absolutely

Brad Delp's sustained vocal at the end of this song was worth the price of admission, and made the song, the crowd reaction being a dead giveaway. Any live version of "MTAF' since falls flat. Brad's vocals will never be duplicated.

I saw them in '79 in Gernany and it still ranks as one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Brad Delp is the only vocalist whose vocals go up instead of down at the end of a Chorus! Incredible range he had! RIP Brad Delp

Besides those super high notes he nails this perfectly almost like the album. I think he hurt himself between this time and the 2004 live videos

I was at a show in Milwaukee for this 2003 tour. It started with a puzzling, then shocking, then awesome experience. Backstage left we could see a guy holding Tom's gold top Les Paul, figured it was a guitar tech roadie making sure it was right. Slowly this guy starts walking out from back & stage left noodling on Tom's guitar, then he slowly makes his way toward the front of the stage. We the audience is wondering why this guy, with a ball cap on, short hair, and kind of buck teeth is moving toward the front of the stage? This guitar tech is likely in trouble, maybe get fired for doing this. We are looking for security or Tom to come out and stop him, enough already. There is a big curtain covering the stage, it falls, there's the whole band standing there. Brad is looking at this unauthorized guitar tech in the front of the stage still standing on the audience level floor, still fiddling with Tom's guitar. And Brad looks puzzled & irritated, and Brad is pointing & motioning back stage for security to come out and stop this guy already. This guitar tech then jumps up on the stage, the band is still puzzled & shocked, along with us, the whole audience, then all of a sudden they start playing Rock & Roll Band, it sounds great. This guitar tech whips off his baseball cap, long dark hair comes down, he pulls out false buck teeth and tosses them, Brad is laughing, we all are, it was Tom all along and he sure did fool everybody. Best puzzled, shocking, comedic start to a concert I've ever seen. In interviews I've never heard Tom talk of this, but sure would be great to hear him tell how he fooled the audience during this whole 2003 tour, maybe did the same thing for the 2004 tour? We had the best seats for this show, as we at the front left corner of the stage, and could see the very start of the guitar tech stunt coming from way in back left, then walking along the left side of the stage, then up onto the stage. I would love to see a video of Tom doing this, but I've never seen one, it was amazing & priceless. It was loud, and if you closed your eyes, it sounded like an enhanced version of the studio recordings blasting out the speakers absolutely perfect. This was my 3rd Boston concert, first in 1987, then 1995, then this 2003 show, and it was the best sounding Boston concert I'd been to. Of course with Brad singing, and Fran Cosmo, and his son Antonio Cosmo, and Jeff Neal on drums, Kimberly on bass, Gary, it was magical. During a break, Brad mentioned how beautiful the full moon was, and thanked us for coming out. I figured a Boston show would never be as good as the ones on this tour. Since, then I've never been much interested i seeing later versions of Boston on stage, though I loved when David Victor was with Boston, he added so much with his guitar & vocals, energy & rock star type stage presence, more excitement to the shows, then he was gone. The newer singer is fine, I just figured it would never be as good as the 2003 & 2004 tours with Brad. And I never imagined a Boston show without Brad, didn't know it at the time, but as they say, I "went out on top" never realizing it at the time.
