Do you know why hardly any live bands do Boston. Covers? Well obviously nobody can sing most of the songs. I mean they could. But wouldn't do justice. Brad Delp is " THE MAN I'LL NEVER BE " will always listen for your voice Brad. You and Boston have inspired my music since I was 7 years old, and 45 years later I still feel like that same little boy every time I hear Boston. My band used to do Long Time. Our drummer, Leah, sang the lead, while the rest of us did the backing vocals, with me singing the highest parts. When we were a 4 piece, I just played bass. When we were a trio, I did the bass on keyboard with my left hand, and the organ parts with my right, and still sang the high parts. We rocked.

The hallmark of a great guitar intro is that everybody knows what song is coming. When Tom starts the acoustic intro, the crowd goes nuts. Great intro, one of the best in rock music IMHO.

I've been an avid fan since I first heard " Don't Look back'. Saw them live in Charleston, WV in the 70s. For me, Tom Sholtz IS Boston. The other members are great and play his songs amazingly well however Tom is the heart and soul of the band and my guitar hero. His leads move me more than any I've ever heard. Keep rockin Boston.

With all due respect to everyone who has been part of the sound since the 70s Tom is Boston and always brought in others to help present live what he created. Brad’s vocals somehow matched Tom’s vision and magic was created as the music was given the perfect voice. Tommy has done an amazing job at giving fans a glimpse back at the past 40 years and brought a bit of Brad’s magic to the fans today.

Tom did all the original guitars bass keyboard and drums mixing and recording technician and janitor, only thing he didn't do was sing so basically it's always been a cover band doing his material not sure why the other guys left these new guys are not as good and no one will ever replace Brad.

With these new generation retreads, how good they may be is always inescapably compared to the sound of the original bands, which can sometimes be unfair to the excellent replacement musicians. Tom has always been brilliant, but it has been really difficult to recapture what Boston once was. The most impressive live band I've ever seen to most closely recapture the original Boston is David Victor's "Bostix" group. I think David may still play with Tom/Boston on occasion, but his Boston (and Stix) cover band is eerily true to the original. Look them up on KZbin.
