What is the purpose of a public library in contemporary times? I mean many items in the library including space are readily available elsewhere! Do we still need this service? And what’s the future of these grand buildings and space they occupy? Thank you 🙏.

It’s called heritage, a reminiscence of the past which still stands in the present and provides a shared space for everyone trying to seek anything. If you can’t respect and hold on to that then you are not a human of any principle because anything which you do now will also be similarly redundant and discarded in the future if you have this mindset. Why do we take care of the old or disabled?? Why don’t we throw old things and photographs??
