That rendition of the Anthem at the Bruins game still gives me chills every time I watch it. Simply amazing.

I was born in Florida and I've never been to Boston, but April 15th, 2013 will always be in my heart. My dad took me to the Fort Myers Boston spring training games when I was a kid. In Superbowl 39, I told my dad that whoever wins will be my team for the rest of my life. The Patriots won and I've been a New England Patriot for 10 years. I decided to follow baseball last year after I got MLB The Show 13. I was drafted by Boston in my game. I'm a huge Matt Kenseth fan in NASCAR, and his previous race team, Roush Racing, teamed with Fenway Park, and became Roush Fenway Racing. There's something special about Boston. It goes beyond sports, as Boston has always been my most favorite city in American history. In October I will be visiting Boston for the first time in my entire life. But I feel like I've been apart of this great city for a very long time. There's a strong power in this City because I don't think that these ties to Boston in my happened by coincidence. I believe that I have always been apart of Boston. this is the true meaning of Boston Strong. It's more than just a slogan.

I was working in Brockton, MA on the east side, when at three PM, WHDH Channel 7 had a breaking news report. Bombs in Boston was the title. Immediately, everyone where I worked didn't know what was going on and were frightened. That had to have been the worst week and a half for everyone. We were all stunned, scared and very saddened. I remember watching the Bruins come together on their first game at the Garden post-bombing and the Red Sox first game at home when Big Papi said what he said. It gave me a strong sense of pride in knowing that everyone was coming together and as a collective group, and this is in a state where that can be tough if you don't know the culture. It was one of the greatest outpourings of emotion that I have seen and have been a part of, in my lifetime as I know it. BOSTON STRONG!
@Anon214869 жыл бұрын
This is the first time I have seen this video and it was an an excellent tribute to Boston. I am not from the city of Boston per se but just over the river in Chelsea and I will tell you, this honestly showed a small portion of Boston Strong. Everyone remembers the people directly affected by the incident, the teams pulling support when the city needed them, the sort of main dish of the story. However, what made Boston Strong was not just the main dish but also the side dishes that seem to have been forgotten. I remember it clearly. I remember how marathon runners, first responders and onlookers went to aid those who were injured. I remember runners not stopping at the finish line but instead continuing running to head to the hospital to donate their own blood for the victims. I remember residence opening their own homes so that attendees can charge their cell phones so they can call to say they were safe. I remember the tributes that were set up, not just on Boylston but also throughout Boston. I remember officers from all over Massachusetts came to Boston, to assist in the aftermath. It is those things that showed the people of Boston are not only resilient but that Boston is indeed Strong.

I was 12 when this happened . I remember watching this with my dad from my tv . It was such a beautiful day everyone was happy . Then I see it happen . I never would have thought in a million years I would see something so horrific at such a young age . I live in New Bedford about 45 mins away from Boston. Even though I don't live there I truly felt as though I was personally attacked. I went to Boston about a week after it happened and went to the Finish line I've never felt so much emotion rush through me in one moment . I was standing where that little boy was and i put myself in his shoes and I couldn't imagine what he felt the fear the pain it was such over whelming . All I could do was cry I stood there and cried in my mothers arms .............. Tomorrow with be the 2nd year anniversary since it happened Boston will forever stay strong no matter what comes at it .

I was 12 at the same time. I live in the small town of Lunenburg about an hour and a half away from Boston. I had been home for only an hour when it happened. That stuff effected me so much. I didn't do homework, I didn't play any videogames. All I could do was watch. But I watched the Red SOx for the rest of the year. I watched the final pitch of the world series and the second it was over, I knew I had witnessed History and that we were finally able to recover.

I am from south Louisiana & I've been watching baseball since June of 2012 & up until this point I had trouble deciding on what should be my favorite MLB team. Then I remember after seeing news about the bombings, immediately thinking what better way for the city to get redemption than the Red Sox to go all the way & win the world series, & in turn they did just that. I supported the red sox throughout that entire season & it was the one shot that I called right & throughout the whole season I knew that it was what happened that inspired the whole journey thru that season. I can now happily say that I have been a fan of the Boston Red Sox ever since. I supported the team & community after that event, & when the red sox won the world series, for me it was the city getting redemption. That to me was retribution for the whole city of Boston. I have been a red sox fan ever since that happened & I'm proud to say that too

Moved to Florida in August 2013 and came back for a month long visit in January this year to watch our beloved Patriots win the Superbowl with my friends and family. I cannot explain the feeling and the love we Bostonians have for each other and our sports teams. The Marathon bombing did nothing but make not only Boston, but New England a stronger and prouder nation. I remember this day very well. I was in HS in Oregon and I had just gotten off school and was arriving at the local golf course for golf practice with my HS team. There was a small TV in the clubhouse lounge and I remember looking up and seeing SportsCenter on and on the bottomline in red "BREAKING NEWS" was the caption "BOSTON MARATHON BOMBING". I remember thinking that it was either a mistype or some kind of sports analogy and sat down to eat a small snack. Within 5 minutes, every TV in the clubhouse had switched to ESPN and was showing the aftermath. I still remember feeling sick and scared, and calling my parents to let them know what was happening

when David Ortiz (from the mound at Fenway) said "this is our f****** City! Nobody's going to dictate our freedom stay strong BostonI', I don't know any channel that deleted that offencive word. The reason? Because it was appropriate for that day, for that time, and that is why it is celebrated rather than criticized. That is when Boston Strong was born..that minute wasit was when we took back our city.God bless Big Papi and now, the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings, how poignant it is all though the enemy cannot be seen, it's not hiding in a boat, we can't shoot it or launch an offencive with our military, it is still an enemy that is trying to dictate our freedom.so stay strong Boston, Boston Strong lives forever!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yo I was there that day. Shit was nuts, no one knew what was going to happen next. Dealing with terrorism isn't just about being "strong", it's about going about your day to day, after the fact, like you're not terrorized. You can't sum up that kind of mentality better than "Boston Strong" did.

I personally believe if the bombing didn't happen the Red Sox wouldn't have won the World Series. They had a near .500 record before the event and then when it happened the fans got behind the sox like never before and the fans wouldn't give up on the sox. The faith, the pride, the determination to win is what gave the sox the ability to win. It wasn't the sox wouldn't give up on the fans, it the fans that wouldn't give up on the sox. But if I was asked would you rather have the bombing and a championship or no bombing and no championship Obviously the answer would be give the ring. GO BOSTON
