Beautiful, Always the best for years. Clean, Crisp, Doe's it all. Perfect fishing, (ski, tube boat for its size) Nice walk-around. Easy Tow, Easy clean. Lots of Power, ---This is a boat for fishing & low Maintenace. (a quick spray water wash, & you're done. Not a carpeted heavy trailer on the water, unless that's what you want. It's a Whaler, they don't build them better.

New or classic, there is nothing as enduring as a Whaler (happy Newport owner here).

Lots of info on Whaler forums and facebook groups... on these boats the hull is pretty solid and you should spend majority of your time checking out the engine. I'd just do a visual check for quality of fiberglass/gel-coat on the hull, red flags being any hairline cracks etc. on the gelcoat or scratches on the hull, also on the 150 w/ this trailer it's fairly easy to chip your bow below the waterline when loading/unloading so check there. Some older hulls you could also get water inside the hull -- which could hurt performance (heavier w/ water stuck in the hull) and have mildew issues. Besides that almost all of the potential issues in the 150 and 170 come from the outboard -- has it been serviced properly (ideally with a paper trail), is there any water or metal shavings in the lower unit oil, any chips on the propeller, does the outboard + transom mount seem solid or is anything loose/floppy indicating rot or a past collision, etc, etc. Good luck!
