Just now seeing this, I have this Boat from new and I love it , it’s most important to do the proper maintenance , pretty much the same as any other boat it’s now about 29 years old and we still enjoy it she’s running great and is at the shore house now , and as soon as We get there he’s going back in the water for a fun time lol .

Your supposed to start your engine 1 st or your cylinders will fill with water then shut off water and let engine run 10 to 15 sec to pump water out or it will lock up if cylinders fill with water

Then u got a linking head gasket , should not fill up with water when not running,,mine never filled up with water ,when I turn it off and left the hose running

That was great. Thanks for posting that video. THere really is very little out there about these boats. I just bought a Rage15 with a '85 OMC 115 and it has the hose adapter already installed. My biggest problem is that I can't get it started. I realized today that I don't have any idea of the starting procedure. I don't suppose you'd do a quick video of you starting the motor? I assume you have the single arm lever with a button on the housing? Thanks Bill

Sounds like you have block some where in the system...I took the top hoses loose.on the engine .and blow air threw lines...this system is famous for getting trash in them ...and causing them to overheat

I’m having trouble getting the outdrive back on, the quick connects will not close shut. Should the outdrive be flush back on or should there be a gap in between?

It can be a pain in the butt to get back on ...its usually because the shaft is not lining up with propeller..and I also greased the shaft to help and the studs the outdrive slides on...but no there should be no gap around the out drive...i do recommend at some point to put a water hose connector on the hose i show in the video

Simple either move the fly wheel a bit or back the pump off move the impeller and try again make sure the hooks are in the proper place for closing

Do you only undo the 2 valves for winter or do you pump antifreeze into to too?

Yes i do the plugs then I run it with out water on it to get all the water out of the block...never had to put antifreeze in it

How long do you run it withought water?

Where is the fuel filter located on this boat?

There is black box on the left side of the motor down the side ...its kind of oval looking thats the fuel pump cover and some times the filter is in there or its a in line fuel filter

Sounds like my 94 Rage. Has that clanging sound when I run it out the water. Been told the noise is because the jet drive doesn’t have that restriction on the impeller that it would normally have if the boat is sitting in the water. It sure is annoying though. Anyone out there have the same problem? Is it normal to make that clanging sound at idle? Let me know. Thank you.
