Affordable cars tend to come with one caveat. They're not fun to drive. The 2025 Toyota Corolla SE is out here to disprove that statement.
Huge thank you to AutoFair Toyota in Tewksbury, MA for providing this 2025 Toyota Corolla for this review.

no it doesnt lmao. The LE looks nice and modest while the SE is trying to do horrible cosplay as a race car. And the drls are horrible. Dont let me mention the black accents

Corolla SE also has a multi-link independent rear suspension unlike the torsion beam rear suspension on the gasoline Corolla LE. This means the SE will have a better ride and handling.
@alvinsimba734

John Konde, the LE used to have multi link independent rear suspension until 2023 models where they went back to torsion beam which to me was a downer and that’s another reason why I will keep my 2020 LE which will be paid off by 2025 and on top of that SE trim is never a good thing because those 18 inch tires are gonna cost you an arm and leg for replacement and also the rims that come with it are prone to damage for those people who live in areas where they are lots of potholes especially during the winter where the temps may go up for one day and then way below freezing mark within a few hours or a day later and that’s how potholes are created. So those 18 inch tires won’t take kindly to potholes plus the road noise is a bit harsh too. 16 inch tires are perfect for those road conditions and they can take more bumps as they have a better sidewall than the 18s. Another obvious reason for the torsion beam was due to the price point and also it’s not just the suspension that got downgraded, even the instrument clusters look cheaper compared to 2020 to 2022. The only good thing about 2023 and present corollas is the addition of usb c ports for the rear passengers and some people will enjoy that and that’s definitely a good thing and that’s about it honestly

Does anyone know if the Corolla XLE trim has the multi link suspension or the torsion beam suspension?
@johnkonde1975

XLE has multi-link. XLE is hybrid and all Corolla hybrids have multi-link, even LE hybrid. Only LE gasoline has torsion beam

If you've never had the blind spot warnings in a current or previous car, who cares? I know how to check the blind spots both by how I set my mirrors and by how I look over my shoulders in my 2006 Toyota Matrix!

Why would anyone even consider a non-hybrid Corolla sedan in 2024/25? Since you will be saddled with an automatic transmission, why wouldn't you take the extra mpg as well as available AWD that comes with the hybrid? Come to think of it, the Camry beats the Corolla sedan in space, power and efficiency for a small increase in the monthly payment.

Because you pay more up front and it will take years of driving to make up the mpg difference in savings
@alvinsimba734
@alvinsimba734 Ай бұрын
This comment clearly shows someone who is entitled and out of touch with reality. The non hybrid Corolla is a good buy, myself I got a 2020 LE which I’m almost done paying for and will be keeping it for the long haul. The fuel cost is almost next to nothing compared to SUVs or vans. During summer I can easily get 42mpg -and yes the hybrid does cost more upfront but even then to feel the difference in savings it will take years and also non hybrid is also cheap to repair as parts are available all the time. Also to add that AWD is overrated and I will explain why it’s overrated. First reason is that as a Canadian where it snows 6 months or so, all you need is winter tires and that’s the best investment one can make. It makes AWD useless. Also that’s why we have two sets of tires, winter tires for winter and all season tires for summer time. Hybrid will be more useful in the future once the batteries are cheaper then it will become a useful option. All in all there is nothing wrong with getting either non hybrid and hybrid Corolla Another thing with AWD that people don’t realize is that when it comes to tire replacement you are replacing all 4 at the same time along with brake pads and rotors whereas FWD you normally replace the front two tires and brakes as they do most of the work , so that’s something people need to be aware of which is why I brought the winter tire as the best solution and it does the job perfectly.
