It's most likely poor translation for the Level-5 website. Japanese doesn't have plural form in the same sense as English. A lot of "AI translated" stuff may improperly translate plural forms from Japanese to English

No, I don't think Nintendo would really want to reveal Switch 2 right now, but it could be what their stuck doing if the rumors that it was supposed to be revealed much earlier in the year but was pushed back are true. If they don't reveal it now, then they force other game studios making games for Switch 2 to have to wait at least 4 months before they can show off their game for the first time. Even if I'm totally wrong though and we're not getting Switch 2 till January, what's the special occasion gonna be?

I do disagree with Nintendo not wanting to reveal the Switch 2 bc of the Ps5 Pro though, bc the switch 2 would completely overshadow it if they chose to reveal it the same week. What was left out of Bo's video was the fact that this wasn't an interview about the remake. It was an interview for the brand new game in the series that releases September 26 on PS4/5, The Legend Of Heroes: Kai No Kiseki. So the context is less, "That Direct was early than I thought..." and more "Who in the marketing team am I going to fire for creating this distraction."

No one is buying a PS5 (Pro or not) because there are no games. And no one is buying a Switch 1 BRAND NEW, they get it on eBay. If they want brandnew, not second-hand sales, they need new hardware with new or backwards compatible games. It doesn't matter whether they reveal it before or after the holidays of 2024 because the only sales they'll be seeing are software / games. No consumer in their right mind is buying a console right now. The sooner we get the reveal over with and outshine the PS5 Pro, the better

I think people forget that Nintendo announced the switch in September because they had to the Wii U was dying this time around it’s not even close to that so really they’re in no rush at all for switch 2 announcements and why would they be? With Zelda Mario party Mario and Luigi all coming later this year they would be perfectly fine not saying anything until January tbh again this time around there’s no rush

Okay actually the Switch IS dying, just not as quickly as the Wii U. Sales of Switch consoles have been dropping. Software probably isn't having a problem, but considering that we know the Switch 2 is bc, Nintendo isn't worried about software, but they are worried about hardware. Besides Switch isn't even close to as powerful as PlayStation and Xbox. But according to what's been said, Switch 2 is about as powerful as a PS4 pro, which means that it's a lot closer to PS and Xbox than the Switch. So they probably want to launch Switch 2 as quickly as possible to show that they can compete with PS and Xbox. Besides since Switch 2 is already in production, they have to reveal it soon, otherwise production leaks will do it for them.

I'm genuinely starting to think this supposed Switch 2 September Direct is just a lot of wishful thinking, amplified by circular speculation & hype from social media & KZbinrs. Hope I'm wrong, but it seems like everyone is convincing each other based on each others videos. There's next to no evidence aside from "we got combined Directs in August to clear out September," and one guy on Twitter giving a wink wink hint implying MAYBE there's a Switch 2 reveal coming. That's way less to go on than we normally have leading up to Directs, yet people seem fine taking this as confirmation.
