With all due respect, Sony buying Kadokawa would still be a major move in acquiring an actual Anime Monoploly. Yes, Sony might not own Shueisha which has all the major, mainstream battle shounens. And Kadokawa might not have an absurd list of SUPER DUPER MEGA HOUSEHOLD Anime titles but don't be fooled. As someone that watches more animes than playing games and watches anywhere from 25 to 30 anime a season. From the major anime titles to the super niche ones and everything in between. You'd be surprised at just how many anime are Kadokawa. I'm talking take a shot every time you see the "Kadokawa" title appear before an anime starts and you will actually die.

Worth mentioning Sony buying these studios dosent necessarily mean they'll get shut down or forced to only make PlayStation titles. Sony may allow these developers to either remain multiplatform (as they did with their UNTIEs subsidiary) or allow the developers to split off (Dragami Games spun off from Kadokawa Games with a bunch of niche IP a few years ago).

While the acquisition would definitely be bad, I don’t think this would affect Mario and Luigi’s future if Nintendo wanted to make another one after Brothership. They’d just find a new development partner to work with on it. Mario and Luigi survived a bankruptcy, they can weather the storm of the company that made the first new one in almost a decade being bought out. And Spike Chunsoft being gone wouldn’t affect if Pokémon Mystery Dungeon came back… because Pokémon Company would need to WANT to make a new game period. And given how Pokémon spin offs are pretty rare these days, them actually caring to make a new one would be a bigger hurdle than the developer they have make it.

Spike Chunsoft is a massive blow, they are the mystery dungeon devs, like how alpha dream were the core M&L devs. And they’re the danganronpa guys too, so it’d suck to have future visual mystery novels be exclusive to Sony platforms. Sony’s reputation had plummeted for me during the PS5 generation so I have no faith in them when the acquisition likely goes ahead.

I have a switch oled console and a ps5 console. It would be unfortunate Eldin ring, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 won't be on Switch 2. If this deal goes through. I have Eldin ring, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 for my ps5 console. The positive about this is. Blood Born can finally be remastered for the ps5 console. Blood Born 2 can finally be made for the ps5 console and Eldin ring 2 for the ps5 console and the ps5 pro console and the ps6 in the future. If this deal goes through. This could be a big kick to Xbox face if this deal goes through.

If Sony does end up acquiring this publisher, i believe that they'll let em continue doing business as usual. Because to me, this isn't about from software as much as it is about kadokawa. Also the reason why bloodbourne hasnt received that remaster is because from a technical level, its game designed to run at 30fps. Anything higher would break the game, which means Sony would have to remake this game entirely from scratch. That would also mean sacrifizing some things to gain that.

I'm pretty sure this isn't going to end well, like you said a few of the studios have been working with Nintendo for years, and now they just have to work with a company that is the complete opposite of Nintendo, I'm pretty sure that a lot employees will resign because they do not agree with this decision. Nintendo is not always good to their customers, but their Developers on the other hand are basically kings and queens, look at Mario Wonder that game had no deadline, or look at how many Kirby games have come out in recent years, and look at how many developers they have that work for Nintendo itself that are not separate game studios such as hall laboratory or Monolith Soft

@NintendoMania It's not just the story.....They get a pass on many things that were criticized when other games appllied similar ideas. The joy of getting past a difficult situation makes the game rewarding, and it seems like other elements get a pass because of it. Something taking to long to acquire is now "well worth the wait", and story elements and slow gameplay is suddenly "challenging and mysterious". Didn't say it couldn't be enjoyed. I'm saying it's not special. It's not unique if they didn't invent it, and this is about FromSoftware, not your favorite game from them. To like it or not is definitely opinion, but their games getting a pass on things other games are critcized for is a fact.
