Great list of potential games. I’m pretty excited for the Feb Direct. Think there’s a few years left of top quality games left in Switch 1. With that install base they simply can’t ignore the money they’d leave on the table by leaving it behind too early.

Square Enix not entirely out of scheduled releases. Yet. Give them two days. They have the physical release of Life is Strange Double Exposure Tuesday and Dragon Quest X Online 7.3 (Japan-only of course) on Wednesday. At that point, they'll be out of any major, advertisement-worthy releases with specific dates. And still no word on when they may be planning their rumored February presentation to give us more dates. To correct a point in your video, Asano only said news for a Bravely project in 2024. He never said a release as well to my knowledge. I took this to mean late 2024 announcement of 2025 game. The only problem is the announcement hasn't yet come so perhaps its still on track. Team Asano is also part of SquareEnix Creative Business Unit #2, which has been badly overworked the last couple of years between the Dragon Quest HD-2D trilogy, ongoing development of Dragon Quest X Online versions 6.x and 7.x (which they curiously won't slow down on), and development of Dragon Quest XII - going longer than normal cadence is not unexpected. Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered (February 14) and Lunar Remastered Collection (April 18) also seem like very high probabilities to me. I think Sega might formally introduce Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds here to try to get ahead of Mario Kart 9. Yooka-Replaylee, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, Roughy and the Riverside, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster, Terminator 2D: NO FATE, My Time at Evershine, and Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter also possibilities. Both Tales of Abyss and Eternal Arcadia/Skies of Arcadia got trademark refreshes in the last few days. Though I think it unlikely, imagine if either or both of them were to show up in the February Direct as surprises.

I'm guessing the reason there hasn't been a new Kirby game in nearly two years is that HAL Laboratory has been putting in a lot of effort on the new Ice Climber game Nintendo seemed to have been hinting throughout Smash Ultimate, Nintendo World Championships NES Edition and the NES NSO phone wallpaper. It could be a Sakurai project, or it could be HAL and Sakurai collaborating, which I don't think has ever happened since Brawl, a Wii game from 2008.

Okay I can't wait for what we could see for the Switch 1 Direct and I hope it's a big one 9:42 Okay, we know Nate The Hate was right about the Switch 2 happening on Thursday two weeks ago, but I don't know about his rumor for a HD remake of Kirby Planet Robobot, which is also supposed to happen this year. However, I'm not sure if it's actually going to happen, and I'm not going to buy it unless they can add Kirby Triple Deluxe with Kirby Planet Robobot and make it a two-pack collection. Then, we would have all the modern Kirby games on one console, which would make me happy. Hopefully they do that for the Switch 1 Direct this year. I don't know why they would make an HD remake of one 3DS game and just leave the other one behind on the 3DS; that doesn't make any sense. Also, I still need to beat Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe 100% before we move on to the next Kirby game for the Switch 2. For Susie, they could do a side mode, an epilogue, or a prologue, and they could add her moveset from Star Allies. Maybe she could use the Robobot Armor. And I think it would be about Susie trying to find Kirby's Robobot Armor, and she actually uses it. Then she brings it back to Kirby after the events with Star Dream. That would be cool. 12:43 And I do hope we get to see a remake or a sequel for Tomodachi Life come to Nintendo Switch and adding the Miitopia Mii Maker in it so then we would have both Miitopia and Tomodachi Life on Switch now that would be cool for the Switch 1 Direct. But yeah I can't wait to see what new games we could see for the Switch 1 Direct this year.

All I want is Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, Luigi's Mansion GameCube on Switch (it was a dumb mistake to port it to a dying handheld console and it played poorly on 3DS IMO AND deserves a proper chance on Switch), Metroid Prime 2/3, F-Zero GX, Professor Layton 6 game collection to hype up New World of Steam, GameCube/DS on Switch Online (Mario Party 4-7, Double Dash, Strikers/Tennis/Golf, Donkey Konga/Jungle Beat, WarioWare & Wario World), a Kid Icarus Uprising remake which was semi confirmed by Sakurai in one of his old videos, a Smash Bros Trilogy collection of 64, Melee and Brawl, Super Mario 2D All-Stars (Mario Bros 1-3, Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros DS & Wii, NO I'm not counting NSMB2 thank you!!) And Super Mario 3D All-Stars with Galaxy 2, 64 DS and 3D Land added as its Mario's 40th anniversary, a Yoshi's Island DS HD port (its also Yoshi's 35th anniversary too) a new Captain Toad sequel, a Year of Yoshi event like the Year of Luigi but YOSHI this time, a Wii Play/Sports & Resorts HD collection it would nice to play these gems in proper HD Thats my wishlist for this February's Direct and honestly I trust NateTheHate with this!!

Hot take: while for personal reasons, I wish this Direct wasn't a thing, and that there was only the Switch 2 one of April. Here's the thing: I'm gonna quit gaming VERY soon, because of the behavior of the players, the reviewers AND the companies, this hobby has become so poisonous to me that I can't stand it anymore, but I still want to preserve the games I loved throught the years, and to not risk to come to hate them like thousands of people online have done. I only need to know when Pokemon Legends ZA and Metroid Prime 4, the only upcoming games I care for left, will release. The thing is... because of this Switch 1 Direct, I'm now forced to stand this poison for another month, or at least up to February 20th at worst, because I need it for Metroid Prime 4's release date (for Pokemom we wait the Feb 27th, at Pokemon Day, so that's not a problem). I kinda wish we only got only the April 2nd Direct. It would have taken longer for the release date of Metroid to be given, but at least I wouldn't have had the obligation to keep looking at gaming sites constantly and keep suffering by doing it...

@@mrshmuga9 Because I wanted the release date of Metroid Prime 4, and by knowing that there was JUST that Direct on April 2nd I wouldn't have ANY obligation of staying on gaming sites at all. That direct would have been ideal to reveal the date of the game (assuming it's crossgen), I knew the specific day, and I would have had to just tune on YT on that day to have that release date. But NOOOOOO there had to be another Direct with an unknown date in which the release date could be given as well to force me to keep staying on this lurid hell for longer than I want. I'm keeping seeing a lot of crap as we speak, and now I'm forced to endure this for three more entire weeks. It sucks, it REALLY sucks. And as for the question, it's really simple: to stay informed on what comes out I HAVE to rely on gaming news, and gaming news REALLY SUCK because of those reasons. I want to distance myself, because I don't want to expose myself to the toxicity of what gaming has become, but I can't as long I have reasons that oblige me to stay (in this case just the release date of MP4 and this stupid Switch 1 Direct with an unknown date)... I really don't want to keep going with this crap if this will be the future of gaming, I just want Pokemon Legends ZA and Metroid Prime 4 before I retire...

@ If you’re this bothered, forget about gaming news, just quit the internet altogether. Maybe you are, idk, you only mentioned games. As far as staying informed on releases, you really don’t have to follow KZbinrs. As I just said, you could subscribe to Nintendo’s newsletter, and they’ll email you the day a direct happens. You literally don’t have to follow anyone to know when it releases so you’re just making things harder on yourself for literally no reason. And even generally you can avoid following creators or personalities on twitter, yet still stay informed. Here are several ways that you can stay informed and not need social media or follow personalities/youtubers: -Newsletters of specific companies or publishers as I mentioned. I get a ton because I went to E3 once and they put you on a mailing list that has basically publisher big/small in North America on it, but you can manually subscribe to them too. You may be able to get on that list as well. I don’t know if it really had any requirement, I just recall it happened during that process. -Follow GameTrailers’ KZbin channel. IGN owns it, but uses it as _only_ a trailer repository. So any game trailer that would be posted on IGN, gets double-posted to GT. But without being bombarded by all the other IGN content. And you’d be surprised how often new trailers come out or that some event is taking place that showcases trailers that you’ve never heard about. You won’t care about all of games shown, but again, you’ll be shown tons announcements and it’s easy to ignore or check them out at your leisure without having to follow or listen to any person. Click a video that looks interesting, jump 30% through the trailer to (likely) see gameplay, and see if it looks cool. If it does, wishlist it and you’ll get notified about its release and sales. And check out some ones that might not immediately grab you, you’d be surprised that the thumbnail/concept isn’t for you until you check out the trailer (or you thought it was a different kind of game). -Get a Steam account. You don’t even have to buy anything. Main point is several times a year they’ll have demo events, a bunch of which are timed exclusives (sometimes they’ll still work if you click the .exe instead of the steam shortcut), but they’re demos that usually aren’t released on consoles even if the game releases on consoles. So you’ll get to see a wide variety of games you otherwise wouldn’t have seen, and get to try them out Those are 3 ways I stay up on new releases, and honestly how I hear about most games. I also find twitter useful as there’s accounts that will cater to certain niches (for me I follow one on 3D platformers, another is paper-like games). And that is where you can find games more specific to your tastes. But if you want to avoid social media, you still have the other options, and those niche games do eventually pop up on the GT channel. Most gaming news are just press releases being regurgitated. And following those studios’ social media or subscribing to their newsletter gives you more or less the same info. Or at least a broad understanding.
