@@yesno2696 we ended up flipping them because we didn't really need that high of a spec for the games we play. Like for real, who needs rtx just to play a game, profit > better graphic Back to your question, we aren't living in US or China so we can't "call the manufacturer". So what we did is simply dig deeper, the price hike is pretty obvious after going through several middlemen, so sometimes u can rely on it being the cheapest price as your indicator, but you can't rely on it entirely because if you are not careful about it, u could fall for scams. Just make sure it has good ratings and good track records. Scammers don't have those Next is to actively ask around, any of the suppliers u can find online, eventually u will find the few importers because they will tell you when the next shipment will reach, or that they are still waiting for the next shipment, basically they have ordered it, it's just a matter of time before they get it. Scalpers can't guarantee this because they don't know when they can secure a card

@@jimmanseg405 oh it's insanely profitable if you can get cheap electricity. Plus they will just sell the GPU second hand when they're done with it. Since the GPUs are undervolted when mining, to conserve power, they function just fine second-hand. At most you might need to replace the fans.

@@matasa7463 It's not insanely profitable now compare to couple years ago because of insane GPU prices vs. electricity bills vs. coins price even you undervolted your GPU doesn't help that much especially when you're running multiple GPUs. Most of the people now are prefer buying coins instead of mining them except for the days that the coin prices goes up high again, but the overall profit and hassle is not that worth it anymore when you can get the same profit by buy/selling coins instead of mining them.

But, to be honest, the Ame X Mei collab was a bit awkward. Don't get me wrong. It's still entertaining, and I was impressed that the oppai talk and the in-chat translators made it work, but they aren't the solutions to every collab. Like, things went really wrong in the international Among Us collab when language barrier was present. I know Kiara, Ina and Calli speak Japanese. However, there still are difficulties to be overcome. Calli still lacks confidence in her Japanese and they might not always be part of collabs. Despite the aforementioned, I am not saying JP/EN collabs are out of the question, but they need to find a way to minimize the negative effects of language barrier.

You generally don't have to disassemble a PC for shipping. The major issue that could occur while shipping is the graphics card putting stress on its socket, but putting foam underneath, adding an anti-sag bracket, or shipping the PC flat would all work fine to mitigate that issue.

GPUs who were around half of that price at around December last year. And all of that with the f*ing import price and taxes my country has too. Literally , last year i could get a 2070 Super if i wante by less than that price, but i had to buy 1st a new CPU , Ram and mother for that ... and i did that instead.

I was wondering if Botan would go the disassemble route, or the stabilize & pack internals in one piece route. Shipping it all in once piece is also fine with good internal stabilization (need appropriate materials on hand), and probably more desirable if the person (Kiara) has basically never touched computer internals before. Large CPU cooler, GPU, and other large devices (maybe Kiara has PCIe capture card) are definitely the right things to take apart for disassemble route, but I think removing RAM is usually unnecessary. Hoping nothing crazy happens in shipping and Kiara gets it all in one piece back home!

Removing RAM is necessary. If they handled your PC badly the RAM could break. RAM is small anyway can be easily carried in your hand carry backpack instead of being put into the luggage.

But, I don't think you can make that claim about removing RAM actually being "necessary" with such a strong level of certainty. For example, watch top tech youtuber (LTT, etc...) content on shipping PCs, and the general consensus is removing RAM is usually unnecessary. Keyword--usually. If you're removing it, it's more for peace of mind/convenience than actual potential impact on shipping.

What I have told by my friend is that transporting PC parts is a big coin flip. So find the one courier service you trust most. Then as an added protective measure, wrap the most important, fragile parts in layers of cloth

Yeah.. Some GPUs are impossible to find even if you have the money. They usually go out of stock in 2 minutes because there is no captcha protection.

Even if there wasn't a GPU shortage, protecting a GPU with your life is pretty much the main thing of a computer, because in some setups, the GPU accounts for over half the price of the entire thing, so if you had to pick the one thing to have protected at all costs, maybe the thing that costs an arm and a leg would help.

I would personally remove the CPU, GPU, cooler, RAM, and SSDs. I kept the packaging and would keep the RAM, CPU, GPU, and SSD in my own personal bags. I would be okay shipping, and therefore completely losing, the case, the PSU, the motherboard, and the cooling systems. The motherboard is worth protecting but simply too big to carry-on, and usually is okay during shipping if nothing big like a GPU or air cooler is attached.
