BOTANICAL ART Painting an Arum maculatum fruit in watercolour

In this short botanical art adventure you will see me painting an Arum maculatum (Lord and Ladies) fruit in watercolour. Pick up watercolour tips as I use one of my favourite watercolour techniques - wet-in-wet.

It is so great that you show close up how you paint, often painting videos do not show close up, and it is difficult to see and understand what is actually done with the brush, paint and water. My main priority for a brush is that it holds a decent amount of paint and has a good point. So, whilst I normally favour expensive brushe,s this one is a bargain brush, like the one in this link: www.jacksonsart.com/brands/clearance/4-pointed-round-sable-natural-wood-handle-brush-aluminium-ferrule I don't know how consistent the quality is but I have purchased several which all come to a good point.

I didn't use any pen, so I guess what you are referring to must be watercolour.

Hi Erin. I'm afraid I haven't produced an in depth tutorial for this - sorry! (It may yet happen in the future as I have enough footage. But I find editing a very lengthy and time consuming process. So, I can only make videos as and when time allows).
