This thing is amazing. I've had close bomb drops that would shred higher tier SPAA and it just takes it like a tank. Because it is. The stock turret rotation is up there with the BTR and the Crusader, it's fantastic stock. Ystervark needs a rotation buff or a BR lower, it's just poor as an SPAA for fast planes.

Ystervark is a hand-crank traverse (I believe). It needs power-assist (which the Brits invented for their 20mm naval & the Germans for their 15mm drilling in WW2).

As someone who loves playing light and AA vehicles, i would love to see more vids like this. Might i recommend taking all SPAA's in a countries lineup into like a 9.0 game or something, and see how many kills you can accumulate. Would be interesting to see how you go. Other options would be all the italian cars and tankettes, or the russian tow's etc. See which is easiest to get a nuke with oe something along those lines

Glad this thing was added, makes a good "in-between" for some discrepancys in SPAA tree. Would be nice to see it in the American Tree though. Yes it's Canadian but America needs another SPAA. As always, amazing video Bo and thanks for the awesome content!

No the US tree can still get the T77 which is a Chaffee with a new turret housing 6 50cal which would ultimately perform pretty similar to the skink Honestly though for the most part the US doesn’t need more AA. Quad 50’s do pretty well up until you get access to the M163 but I guess getting the T77 with it’s better armour and 2 more 50’s can’t hurt Also Gaijin pls gib France and sweden a decent fucking low tier AA, single 40mm trucks with terrible traverse are not it!!!

@@operationdrank5864 Lmao the best US AA is the M16 and tank roof 50 cals until the M163. They could do with the T77. The M19/42 is still better against actual tanks but fairly useless against aircraft

Nothing extraordinary but quad 50cals and dual 40mm cannons on decent chassis pretty much outclasses all the minor nations bar China by miles… I mean sweden for example has 2 20mm auto cannons which are terrible SPAA because they aren’t SPAA vehicles and a couple single barrel 40mm platforms, absolutely abysmal in a game where cas is so powerful

I abhor the Crus AA Mk.1, since it gets me killed way too easily, even if I play perfectly, and I lose all my SL if I use it. I prefer the Mk. II because it is cheap, fast, armoured turret, and can actually do a good job at fucking up aircraft. Thats the second reason I love the Skink even more, as it improves on every aspect of the Crus AA mk.II, because it double the guns, and armours EVERYWHERE.

Regardless the vehicle itself hasn’t changed, just the rank which means it can’t be used in events and challenges leaving only 20mm based SPAA’s until the cold war era. As far as challenge/event progress go it’s a bit shit. Only a bit.

@@fazsum41 The thing is, you're not _supposed_ to be fighting tanks using SPAA. That's the actual _fighting_ vehicles jobs, such as TDs, Mid to late-war Mediums and Heavies, if that was designed in mind, of course (Even then, stuff like the 75mm variant of the Sherman can do fairly decent against Panzer IIIs and IVs, and even not too bad against the bigger kitties, if the user is smarter than the average Wehraboo.) If you're fighting enemy tanks as an SPAAG, that means your team is failing to do its basic job: prevent that from happening in the first place by being the one the enemy team is fighting instead. On another note: Dont count the 20mm variants out. Yes, they cant kill the big cats of later war Germany, but they can just as easily harass via Track&Barrel Torture, and have much better protection against other sources such as explosions, and their main quarrel: the fucking aircraft. I've died more times than I can count when I've tried to take out an aircraft with the Mk.1 Crusader SPAA (the open-top sheet metal box with the 40mm.) than I've *_KILLED_* using the twin 20mm-wielding Mk.II Crusader SPAA. The 40mm may pretty much oneshot an aircraft, but that has to fucking hit the shit first. I have a lot higher a chance of hitting my quarrel if I have more rounds going down range at a time. Not to mention the extra crew member it gives you, along with that oh-so-sweet 50mm armoured turret. Herman The German Sherman trying to .50 cal you to death? Not with that turret, he ain't! TL;DR: Use your SPAA as a fucking SPAA, and dont ignore the 20mm guns just because they cant kill a Big Cat. Bigger =/= better.
