By the way, for anyone interested... all Corsairs in the game can use their landing gear as a makeshift airbrake. The gear only rips off after exceeding ca. 750 kph IAS!

That roundel was the Commonwealth Pacific Theater Roundel. The Red was taken out to avoid confusion with the Japanese. "Used by units under South East Asia Command and in the CBI theatre mid-1942-1946. Red removed to avoid confusion with Japanese hinomaru. Initially red was overpainted with white but this compromised the camouflage and the normal roundel blue was mixed 50:50 with white. Many aircraft in the CBI theatre used roundels and fin flashes of approximately half the normal dimensions."

It's the moment people realise that the main reason he is so good, is in every video he has posted... The reason is teamwork. I have observed over many months that he plays with his friends in every video. That's why he is so good. I play with my friends and I seem to have a better chance of surviving when they are close. The British premium corsair is definitely my favorite british premium - it's undertiered and carries some of the strongest guns at its BR. It can compete with the Germans for climb too.

Honestly I'd say stick with B-25s if you're a bomber lover, B-17 is neat as an arcade gunship but cannons, rammers and will-o-wisp wings will be so frustrating. Maybe it's gotten better since I last played but the B-17 line was not enjoyable.

Nature is very unforgiving to the mentally impaired in War Thunder! On a more serious note, here... have all my facepalms. Well it balanced out, the 109 F's weren't any smarter really. But... it would be so nice to actually have competent teammates AND opponents for once. Have an actually intense fight instead of these turkey shoots... :(

That's how most aircraft radial engines sound. Keep in mind that the point of view is constantly with the plane, it's not doing a flyby like in airshows. The sound you hear there is mostly coming from the propeller and the airflow over the planes various surfaces and holes, you only hear the engine for a very short time right after the flyby. In fact, the Corsairs famous "whistling" sound comes from the air flowing into the oil cooler air intakes in the wing roots, not from the engine. The first Corsair is widely known as the most undertiered prop plane in War Thunder, and the british premium is the same model just with clipped wingtips thus it get's the same BR. Can you guess why that is? Hint: BR is mainly influenced by player performance.

More like half a year, until the next BR adjustment. >_> There are also other considerations that influence BR but yes, that's basically how it works... which is imho utterly retarded. Planes should be tiered according to their performance, while keeping both their role and the real life introduction date in mind. For example, a Hurricane Mk IV Attacker isn't supposed to compete with fighters, and it also shouldn't sit any lower than BR 3.7. That thing is a 1943 variant for gods sake, and despite slugging around 2 heavy and draggy 40mm gunpods it STILL completely outperforms every other Hurricane in the game! Which is no wonder when you consider that it runs on the same boost settings as the BR 5.0 *GRIFFON* Spitfire Mk. XIV(18 lb boost pressure!!) while the highest BR Hurricane, the Sea Hurricane Mk. Ic at 3.0, uses a setting from before the frickin Battle of Britain(a pitiful 6.25 lb boost pressure)... a time when the Sea Hurricane didn't even exist yet, and despite the fact that this Hurricane actually used the 16lb boost pressure setting, since it was also a 1943 model! Here, have a look at their datasheets... but be careful not to facepalm your head off. prior to the war, the RAF operated the naval planes, and the navy operated the carriers. then the fleet air arm was formed and given over to the navy, so if you're flying a corsair, the carrier dudes are in the same union LOL.
