In this final episode of the Okavango Delta Overland Series, we pack up at the beautiful Savuti camp and start to make our way across the Chobe National Park towards Kasane.
This trip involves navigating through some really thick sandy roads, exiting Chobe at the Ghoha gate, crossing the Forest Reserve and then re-entering at the Ngoma gate. The drive along the river provides magnificent views of the Chobe river itself, and we are spoilt with beautiful sightings of Kudu, Impala, Giraffe, Zebra, Elephant, Baboon and Buffalo.
We eventually make our way into Kasane where we check into Chobe Safari Lodge for two nights - and explore the river on a sunset cruise, go tiger fishing and go on a final self drive safari to try and find the famous but elusive prides of Chobe Lions.
As our journey through this magnificent country comes to an end, we make our way back to Francistown from Kasane, and prepare for the long drive back to Johannesburg in South Africa, with one big goal in mind…to think about, and plan the next adventure!

Thanks for the wonderful pictures. We spent this April 2 weeks in Botswana and travelled from Kasane to Namibia and back to Maun. Looking your videos brings me back all the wonderful feelings, Sounds, Wildlife experience, Sunset…and we saw Lions in the Chobe NP :)

Thank YOU for your comment - and for sharing it here. It’s a very special place that. We cannot wait to go back one day - and find those Lions in Chobe. Take care.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your videos. One of the great things about KZbin is being able to see other parts of the Countries, sun sets, roads, nature and Silhouettes. Little things we take for granted. I dream about such Overlanding a lot. So, I'm all in to see what you do in 2024 or late 2023! You out done yourself Graeme. Epic...Bravo to the entire team.

Thanks Nyiko - really happy to get this kind of feedback - makes all the editing so worth it. Next adventure takes place in the Kruger Park - I should have a new video out in the coming few weeks.

Superb finish Graeme! I just loved this whole series even without the lions. You really do a nice job of interspersing the VLOG commentary and tips with driving scenes, scenery and wildlife and even a few aerial clips so 👏👏👏. Looking forward to what you have next.

Hi Graeme great video, what radio antenna are you using & what frequency does it operate on.Looks like a helical wound HF but more information would be appreciated

Hi Gary - we used handheld two-way radios (Zartek brand) with an extension aerial plugged into the handheld and mounted on the roof. Very simple and cost effective solution.

Love you video's and details. It was you inspiring videos that have made us plan a very similar road rip in September 2024. Question we want to also take 4x4 trailers on the same routes you have done in Moremi, Savuti and Chobe. Is dragging trailers in the thick sand an issue. Seemed that this was not a problem? Any advise most welcome

Hey Charles - thanks for the comment. I’m so happy that the video has inspired you into an adventure. You will not regret it. With a capable vehicle (4x4) you should not have an issue with trailers at all. September is later in the season than what we experienced - and so the delta would probably have flooded and receded by that time. You may find a little more mud than we did and perhaps less soft sand. That said, if you travel with another vehicle (recommended) you will always have someone to pull you out of trouble if needed. Enjoy your adventure - please drop a comment once you have concluded your trip to let me know how it went. Take care.

Hey Lawrie - sorry that you didn't resonate with the music. That's good feedback for me...will give some more thought to music for the next adventures. I guess it will always be subjective though. Anyway, happy to hear that you enjoyed the footage. Hope you've watch the other episodes - we had a really good time in Bots - and part of the reason for putting these video's together (other than memories), is to encourage others to go and explore places like the Okavango. Have you done any overland trips?

@@graemecumming Hello again Graeme I stayed at Chobe lodge some years ago & your video-brought back fond memories including lions feeding & a young elephant playing with his trunk. I used to produce AV shows and would record wild track sound for use in the production Lawrence
