Once again your patience was evident. I have likely expressed this before in a previous comment that you are a credit to the ranching community. I attended a funeral with my wife this afternoon. Barb had a way with horses. She was one of the best when it came to working with horses. She just had a way that horses understood. She was also a school teacher and she worked with Air Canada for years. She spoke 5 languages. She was quite the lady. Her reception had many former colleagues. I recalled your relationship with Gilbert. Brutus and Bella are bringing out the best in you. Thank you for sharing in your 24th episode. 😊

Watching and feeding the bottle calves is always fun to see. It’s amazing to see a calf play in the yard with the dog and they seem to enjoy each other’s company. Just like any other animal, give them a taste/smell of food and they’ll follow you around to get more. Enjoyable to watch them grow every day.

Strait up' birth and the time immediately after is the most "hazardous" time in the life of any calf. Seeing Bella and Brutus romp around behind a fence, shows the hard work that contributes to their survival. I'm looking forward to all of the new calf's striving this year.

WoW Thats a large rate of replacer. Your current grain mix for the A & B team would work for these bottle calves and develop the papillae of their rumens. My calves regularly are eating (tasting) grain before 2 weeks. At 5 weeks I cut back the replacer just a bit and they start eating a half pound each.

Cam (in scotland) of the sheep game, calls them pet lambs and has so many he can get locals to come in and feed them for the experience and help them better understand farming.

Mike We use to give calf’s goats milk.They did really good with the goats milk.People used to give me goats milk to babies that couldn’t have cows milk because of allergies.the last time I looked goats milk sold for $5.00 for a half a gallon.Ask your vet.Or just look it up.❤Good luck
