Here in the US, 5/16" is a good substitute for 8mm threads if you have a difficult time finding them (for this project anyways). I didn't even have to resize anything in the slicer. I've had no issues on my cutter.

Great design! When you are printing with the PET filament do you dry it before? I've been having problems with moisture causing bad layer adhesion but haven't seen anyone drying their PET bottle filament.

I never dry my filaments, for me, humidity and 3D printing have no relation
@jacobnowatzke4371 Жыл бұрын
70-75C for a few hours will do the trick. I use a large air tight tupperware bin, to which I've added a mesh container filled with silica dessicant that dries at the same time as the filament. PET is very hygroscopic- I live in a very humid climate at sea level, so I'm always fighting it. I do 170°F for about five hours after pultruding. Drying like this drastically improves my print quality.

Thank you for the tip that solved my bearing slipping issue. I left them slightly touching and sharpened them using sandpaper of varying grits. But I have another issue, you are cutting the bottle so easily without applying downward weight. When I try cutting it, even after adding a bit of weight my bottle keeps rising in the guide and the strip width is inconsistent. Did you face a similar issue? Or is it the action of pulling that is the key.
@function3D6 ай бұрын
Allow the cut strip to come out horizontally from the cut therefore pull the strip by grasping it so that it comes out horizontally as well as pulling it towards you and up at an angle of 30° or more above horizontal
