Came across this. One of the grandkids was diagnosed with “tongue-tied” . I had been cupping her jaw up which worked the best. She suction on and drank 2 oz, the most I’ve ever seen her drink with me. She’s breastfed, so no clue she had any issues until she started 2mo. Was clipped, grew back, waiting on a therapist so currently looking for tips. We tried all the fancy bottles, then got a cheap $1 bottle, as well as preemie bottle nipples. Lol. She took that the best. Desperate we bought so many bottles, nipples lol but end up getting a cheap one as the last resort. I’m going to try laying her on her side, but I’m so paranoid that she may aspirate, also colicky…and likes to face away from you in a sitting position so it was easier to cup her jaw/chin. Odd position but that’s how her dad used to sit bc he was a colicky baby. Yep he taught me patience of feeding of an ounce, burp, wait, ounce, repeat…45 mins for a normal feeding. 😂

When they feed in a sideline, it is easier for them to take the milk and just as if they were at the Breast. It doesn’t overwhelm them with the volume coming down at them if they were laying on their back or even in a sitting upright position. The tube is to match the flu with the breast, so the baby doesn’t prefer one over the other.
