Sometimes it's the small things that make a big difference. If you'r a bottle person then this backpack strap bottle holder can make life easier. It can get a little in the way on the descent but at least you'll be hydrated.
You can find the bottles holders here
skimo.co/camp-...
And here

They maintain the benefits of a bladder hydration tube design but also the accessibility of a bottle. Underrated product.

Made my own soft flask holder for my climbing pack after watching your channel! Saves so much time

I use the camp bottle holder with soft flask style bottles (like the 500ml soft flask from Salomon) and they work great, no retention issues. I do prefer to throw the long straw nozzle on so I don't have to pull the bottle out every time. I only recommend the soft flask in temps above 15F or so, otherwise you have to really make sure you keep the water moving.

Two questions, 1. Does Danny put his camera in one of these bottle holders? Feel like I've seen a few clips where it looks like his camera is in one of these. 2. Any potential for a video on training or workouts you guys do during the off season or days you aren't ski touring sick mountains?

Great video, great channel, but guys.... the suspense for a new Mediocre Amateur video is actually too much to handle

Danny realized he only pukes half as much making reviews so we're thinking about abandoning the adventures and just expanding the review channel to include kitchen appliances, lawn care equipment, and of course surprise toy unboxings

How does this not freeze in any - 20c conditions? Insulated bladder is superior imo for cold weather
@cnuila
@cnuila 3 жыл бұрын
If being absolutely freeze-proof is your #1 priority then yes, an insulated bladder tucked in your pack might be better. For our temps here in the rockies an insulated bike bottle works pretty well in all but the most frigid conditions.

i started using the insulated dynafit pouch with a standart bottle for skitouring in the swiss mountains (which can be quite cold 😉). i start the day by pouring in hot water from the tap and end up with the perfect drinking temperature as soon as I want my first sip of water!

Does the water freeze up in cold temperatures? I was using a water bladder (3L) with the dakine poacher. Their insulated pocket worked over the weekend and coastal BC temperatures were definitely high enough to freeze the tube. Because the frame of the dakine poacher was too big I switched to the osprey kamber 42L backpack. Their sleeve is insulated but in -15 (Celcius, Im Canadian) it wasn't doing anything. Trying to justify if its worth it going with the bladder because it works really well in non extremely freezing temps

@@Zzzzzzzzzzzzjjjj does yeti make any water bottles that prevents freezing?
@cnuila

Yes I should have been more detailed to say we use insulated bottles out ski touring. They do pretty well in all but the most deep freeze conditions. If its sub freezing temps all day and we're going to be out so long that I'm worried about my bottle freezing I'll probably have another soft bottle or flask in my pack anyway.

To be honest in the bc rockies its too cold to have your water bottle outside the pack. It freezes than you cant open it. Have to keep a nalgene type bottle in the back pack against my back. Hate drinking ice cold water anyway

As soon as temps stay above freezing most of the day I start using soft flasks a lot more. Haven't found a way to make them work better than an insulated bottle in the winter though.
