I've always wanted to try the Evan Williams Bottled in Bond but always pass it up for something else. I'm a huge fan of their Single Barrel and buy that quite often.

I like several of these and keep the ones available in my area on hand. I toured the Chattanooga Whiskey Distillery a week ago and their bottled in bond was my favorite. I think the higher malt content makes it very unique. Looking forward to the remainder of this BIB comparison.

This is probably the Ultimate Bottled in Bond I've ever witnessed!!!!! A lot of amazing bottles there. Right now, EH Taylor is my top Bottled in Bond and they have a few expressions including a rye which is amaaaazing!

Don't sleep on Wilderness Trail! Excellent product. The yellow label is also bourbon, but high wheat vs high rye like the one you sampled for this video. Yellow label is my favorite WT. Look for their 6 year juice, and their rye is also excellent.

Too late now, but given the huge price differentials on some of these, it would have been cool to break the four groupings out by price class. Then you’d be assured of at least one “lower shelf” offering being included in the final.

You didn’t have to know going in that you were tasting $100+ bottles or ~$50 bottles. I think it would have been entertaining and make the final shootout much more interesting.

Extremely tough draw for the Chattanooga and Wilderness Trail. Both very good but the 2 middleweights went against a heavyweight champion. The Dickel was in WAY over it's head - period. Take the Old Fitzgerald out and substitute any other BIB and it's a much closer match. Plus, you hit the Old Fitz first in the taste off, so even harder for the next 3

What Wilderness Trail was that at #4?? You list it incorrectly as a “small batch.” They have a high rye BiB (black label) and the Wheated BiB (yellow label)

I just picked up a Chattanooga bottled in bond yesterday. Was $60, so hope it's good. Also got my first metal topped Early Times bottled in bond. Hope it's not as bad as some reviewers are saying as compared to the Brown Forman version.

I used to buy Old Fitzgerald BiB 10-15 years ago and it was priced like Beam or Wild Turkey. But I don't think it was aged 11 to 17 years and it wasn't the "decanter series", as HH refers to it. I don't think the decanter thing even existed then. Have they stopped making "plain old" OF bottled in bond? The bottle you've got is no doubt great, but I can never find it and it's probably out of my price range anyway.

Some friends of mine did a similar tasting last year on a smaller scale . We had Old Bardstown BIB, Evan Williams BIB , Old Grand Dad BIB, and 1792 BIB. Old Bardstown was the unanimous winner with Evan Williams coming in second

I feel that’s a personal choice. I have tried every way I know for multiple tasting and I found if I sip water in between each sip my palate gets washed out. I do have water available if needed.

Too bad you don’t have Old Fourth in there. I did a blind of it vs EH Taylor, Evan Williams, Old Grandad, Early Times, both Wilderness Trails, Heaven Hill, and New Riff. I added in John J Bowman as it’s a 100 proof too but not bottled in bond. Other than the Bowman the Old Fourth won out. Easily.
