Tom, Armour began its meat packing operations in 1867, and I do believe your bottle is circa 1875. I couldn't find an exact replica, but from what I saw, that would be about right. The torpedo bottle is just amazing, and I wouldn't be surprised if it came from about 1850. What a find! The hybrid Hamilton is a heartbreaker, for sure. Very nice old jars, inks, and beers. Your cave-in was quite scary, I'm glad you're okay! And I so enjoyed your end-of-the-day shower! So good to see you back, take care!😊💖

I’m biting my nails off watching the way you force birth those bottles from the soil. They’re so precious, killing me. So envious as I will never unearth those beauties here in America

That little meat juice bottle is a stunner man ! Love quirky small bottles.

Loving your KZbin channel. I did a bit of bottle digging in the 80s and 90s, so you're bringing back a lot of memories. Like the way you make sure the bottle is in focus once it's been extracted. Some lovely bottles there. I think I only uncovered a Hamilton once, and hardly ever found a Codd. The well-embossed black glass beers were always my favourite. Take care in those deep holes - I never went deeper than about 5 foot.

I believe the glass piece you found with all the holes in it that fell apart we in the US would call a frog, to arrange flowers. It would go at the bottom of a vase

Nice start to a new tip Tom with those bottles and Virol. Pity about the Mat pot but I'm sure you could make something awesome from it. It always amazes me how the thin bottles survive and yet the robust looking bottles are mostly smashed, well they are when I have been digging lol. Wow that Uranium glass is something I have never come across before and imagine finding a complete bottle made from that stuff, it would be awesome. Wow Tom that Soda Water bottle was a gem of a find in all that broken stuff. So glad you managed to find a good one for all that effort of digging mate. So sorry about the Hybrid Hamilton Codd mate. Been semi buried a few times myself and had to dig out a few friends from cave ins in the past, real scary stuff to think about if your digging on your own. I found a complete one of those Marmalade Jars and they have Initials on them which can give you the year date too from what I can remember Tom. That tip is going to produce some MEGA awesome finds in time for you and I would love to have something the same but guess time will tell. Take Care and Stay Safe
@sophiechandler9553 жыл бұрын
That was a great dig, what a variety of interesting glass. It’s Uranium glass which is what they used for nuclear weapons 🤦♀️ strange to think they made radioactive glass. There’s another type of glass worth looking out for it’s called dichroic glass which when first made 20’s-40’s were made into candle sticks or ashtrays, mine are sort of deco style (looks pale Lilac and changes colour to pale blue under fluorescent light (or visa versa), very cool. There’s also cranberry glass ( hence colour) but I guess you might have found some of that? Usually they are in organic shapes like sea urchins etc as they were often victorian table pieces, really nice...

Welcome Back Tom. I have missed your digging videos. Glad you are safe and sound after that cave in. That scared me. That soda water bottle was stellar. Would you be able to post a video of some of the bottles from today, all cleaned up? I would love to see that soda water one all polished and displayed. Same with that little ink pot with the red ink in it. I wish I didn't live on the other side of the world. I would gladly take some of those pots and bottles off your hands. :) Thanks again for taking us along and showing us all your beautiful finds.

Me. Tom have you ever cut down and recycled any of those fine bottles where the neck is broken off? Other channels do and sell them for decent money for them not so much a good deal for us buyers but you might ask the group if they would be interested in those . Just a thought to get more money for you and your efforts. Thank you for an awesome video today….. I pray you have a blessed and wonderful day today.

Seen bottles from brum with that lettering on them think Birmingham was to long to fit on the bottles
@hetrodoxlysonov-wh9oo4 жыл бұрын
@@bottlediggertom Yep, that round bottom hamilton also came in blue, it predates Goffe & sons, they produced blue Codd narrow neck, blue Codd standard, Blue Codd bulb neck, amber Codd and green Codd, most of the blue Codds have been found outside of Birmingham, their factory was right by Birmingham city's FC ground and thats built on a 1870-1890 dump.
