I have some fast action rods , I run them strait out the back high in the air, walleye load it up and hook them self's , you can add a slow death with a stinger ... I love to use 12 or 14 foot rods so no planner boards need ...
@BloemendaalFishing2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if your rods are that long, fast action probably works

Those larger Colorado/Indianas often require 1mph+ to get spinning, but smileys/props are best from .5-.8 and usually start going a little crazy over 1mph. What's your go-to if they want it slower but also want the bigger blades, and vice versa?
@BloemendaalFishing2 жыл бұрын
Good question I’m not sure there’s a great answer to, but those little prop blades can go about any speed.

Do you launch from the Garrison ramp? I'll be there in spring, house is due completed by May 1. Coleharbor is my fav spot then I get access to Wolfcreek back waters. Who know maybe even run the camera for ya one day.

All depends on the day. I’ve launched at at least five or six different ones this year.

What particular rod and reel do you use?
@BloemendaalFishing3 ай бұрын
I’ve been using Berkeley lightning rods 6.6 medium moderate, but I’d like a little longer ideally. Maybe a slight upgrade would be nice. But I don’t think one needs a super fancy rod for the technique. Just one something that’ll load up nicely before the fish knows anything.

So 2’ lead doesn’t scare the fish from the weight?
@BloemendaalFishing Жыл бұрын
Not usually. Certainly not Sakakawea. Clear lakes it may pay to make the leaders longer, but I’ve used bottom bouncers to catch walleye any lake I’ve ever been.
@chrishillard495010 ай бұрын
Do you use a snap swivel to attach the bouncer to the main line or tie direct?
@BloemendaalFishing10 ай бұрын
I mostly have tied direct, but using some kind of snap is a good idea, especially for changing weights quickly. I just started trying that this year, and I plan to do it that way more next year.

Do you loop knot the leader to the bouncer swivel or do you tie the leader to a barrel swivel and then attach it to the bouncer swivel? @@BloemendaalFishing
@BloemendaalFishing6 ай бұрын
I prefer not to have a swivel as I don’t like the bouncer twisting, though it shouldn’t anyway if you keep tension on the line at all times
